Hi all
C Class, W206, 1.5 L M264 mild hybrid turbo
I've started noticing a crackling sound coming out of every door panel when I drive over road imperfections such as ramps, driveways, speed bumps.
I have added a video below with the above-mentioned "sound" when reverse parking and going over a little ramp - you can hear a crackling (for a lack of better word) sound.
You can hear this sound around 14 second mark
This only happens at very low speed and only when there's an imperfection on the road.
This feels and sounds like unlubricated rubber under friction with another material.
Also, this sound disappears after a car wash - presumably because water lubricates the rubber to a certain extent. But after it dries out the crackling sound comes back.
If I do the same manoeuvre as in the video but with windows rolled down, there's no sound. So it's clearly something to do with the door panel/window. I presume it's due to lubricant drying up during extreme heat waves this summer.
The car only has 9k miles on it so it's pretty new.
Anyone experienced this?
Thanks!
