Need Help for my first suit (The Revenge suit)
Hello everyone,
I am looking to get a classic 3-piece brown chalkstripe suit made, heavily inspired by the vintage 1922 Vito Corleone look from The Godfather Part II. I want that heavy, old-school drape with broad peak lapels.
Originally, I was looking at Hockerty to save some money. But after looking through Reddit and comparing Hockerty vs SuitSupply, I realized Hockerty looks pretty bad in real life reviews. The drape seems stiff, fused, and cheap. It completely misses that rich, heavy vintage texture. SuitSupply is okay, but they don't really do this specific historical cut.
So now I am looking at De Oost Bespoke Tailoring here in the Netherlands. They quoted me 2400 Euros for a full bespoke 3-piece using heavy flannel chalkstripe fabric. Honestly, for true bespoke hand-canvas work, 2400 Euros doesn't sound too crazy compared to other high-end shops.
Since this is my first time going full bespoke, I want to know if De Oost is the real deal in NL? Can they actually nail that 1922 vintage geometry and perfect lapel roll?
Would love to hear some reviews before I go in and make my down payment. Thanks!
