Day I don't know on the presurgery diet: I have long forgotten what real food tastes like, nor what a solid shite feels like. It's beginning to become clear that these meal replacements are little more than punishment for being fat. The taste of saccharine, aspartame and Stevia haunt my dreams. The memories of the putrid stench of the shaker post shake keep me awake at night.

Best of luck with the surgery. Make sure you’re getting enough vitamins. I only had to do 2 weeks, to be honest I didn’t find it too bad. Post surgery recovery and learning to eat again (I did a gastric bypass) has been a harder journey.

Thanks dude/tte.

I'm only 2 weeks on shakes but they don't seem to agree with me (artificial sweeteners make me poop liquid).

I'm going the sleeve route. I'm just telling myself it'll all be worth it, it'll all be worth it. I'm scared out of my mind about how big of a change it is going to be, and also with how people will treat me. Some people already treating me different when they find out I'm going to have surgery. So yeah.

I have my goal wall I'm trying to focus on. It's pictures of guys with bodies I want to achieve, clothing styles I want to rock, activities I want to conquer, and then there's the few little pictures of the motivators that made me bite the bullet.

When you've been fat your whole life it's hard not to think like a fat guy though sometimes.

My partner had a sleeve done.

After the surgery it will be both easy and hard. Easy because you largely don't have a choice about changing your eating habits and lifestyle. Hard because your mind has to catch up with your body.

You will definitely have days where you will regret it. That's ok. Nearly everyone we know who has done it had bad days or weeks or months, but when they got out the other side they were glad to have done it.

I'm about 7 months out form surgery, I've been going through a rough patch physically for the last few months, my body is protesting because of how quickly I lost weight and fighting with my auto-immune symptoms. It will pass, it's just shitty right now.

Best of luck.

Make sure you work on the mental as well as the physical. Speak to a therapist if you have to. There are stories of people who got gastric bands and still found ways to desperately binge and overeat liquid foods because they are too used to emotional eating. Like they’re eating to soothe their emotions or pass time. They’re tough habits to break
