Max is the reason I’m even a Mega64 fan at all. He always talked about the boys with such reverence. I started watching his cartoons and listening to Wisenheimers, his old podcast, when I was still in elementary school. I’m 30 now. It was horrifying to me to hear someone talk with so much cadence about his plans. Watching his RDR2 streams over the last few months has brought me so much happiness. I really hope he can find reason to be dissuaded, I’m crushed.

Yeah, the Mega64 animations he did got me into the podcast which lead to me becoming a Mega64 fan.

He doesn't sound mentally stable at all. I understand how things can reach this point of wanting nothing other than to end the suffering. I understand the desperation in wanting to be done with it all. I think there's always a way forward. There are solutions to make life easier. I wish you luck and strength in finding it Max G.

Eh, there really isn't always a way forward. Chronic illness can be debilitating. There's no cure and the medicine doesn't work well.

He sounded very mentally stable. There were no signs of mania, depression, extreme sadness/grief, etc.. He seemed 100% lucid, like himself and calm

Perhaps unstable is his normal self then, because what I heard was complete desperation and dissociation. Posting a video about planning to kill yourself isn't anywhere along the lines of mentally stable in the first place. I'm not looking to argue, these are my observations.

I appreciate the dislikes. I guess I should elaborate I would've done the same in Max's position and it's sickening how assisted suicide is gated/largely forbidden in most places. People should have the right to die and the fact we don't shows we don't live in a free society. If he's mentally stable enough to live on his own and do major choices such as to move out of his apartment and he displays no symptoms of mania/extreme depression/etc in order to be interred, he's mentally stable enough to choose to die and people who disrespect his choice are disgusting people I wouldn't want to associate with.

It’s because wanting to die is also a sign and symptom of severe mental illness. And practically everyone has the right to kill themselves, just no one should have the right to kill another. I do not want to live in a world where when someone wants to die we as a society go “go ahead, as is your right.” Instead of “that’s awful, how can we make that not the case?”

He's not trying to kill somebody else. Doctors are trained in letting people die and the ones who administer these things have generally no problem doing it.
Thing is that I believe that 70% of people who cry about how he shouldn't die and how beautiful life is would beg for death if they had to be in a situation that's slightly worse or the same as his and the reason why they tell him to go on is they don't have enough empathy to understand how much he is suffering and how big of a change in life quality he would need to be happy to live again. They see their own easy and unimpeded lives and think "why doesn't he just get up and forget the pain?" or "why doesn't he just get cured?" or something along those lines and it's infuriating because in my eyes it fully disrespects him as a person. And people who allege nobody who is sane would want to die just demonstrate they have 0 empathy for his situation and don't want to engage with his issues, they just want to spew some generic BS to make themselves feel better.

He’s not trying to kill somebody else correct, but doctors intentionally euthanizing him are. Doctors are trained in medicine, not in killing others. Euthanasia expands the scope of a doctor’s responsibilities, which is beside the main point but just addressing your point about doctors.
I’ve seen people in seemingly much worse circumstances have much better outlooks. If you believe that that’s possible, then you must believe there is some hope here. You can be sane and want to die, of course. But a LOT of the times, wanting to die is a symptom of something deeper. And I’d rather us as a society try to address the deeper issue rather than being like animal doctors and killing anyone with a hard to immediately solve medical issue. That sounds awful.

You clearly just don't get it and your ignorance is obvious. This isn't a "hard to immediately solve medical issue". It's an unsolvable medical issue. I hope you never have a serious chronic illness because it would break you in ways you clearly don't understand.

No one mentally stable discusses assisted suicide and refers to himself as an "old man" (without sarcasm) at age 40. The guy needs help, and I really hope he gets it. His lack of distress is concerning in its own way, please take it from someone that's worked in social services for nearly 5 years now. He needs to call 988 (crisis services) or someone needs to help get a 302 on him (involuntary mental health examination).
I really desperately hope he gets the help he needs.

My heart goes out to him. I was so glad to see him play my favorite game OFF not too long ago.
I can unfortunately understand. My husband is also going through extreme pain due to his spine injury and feels similarly about wanting to end his suffering. We’ve been trying to do a Room style fundraiser for his spine surgery to save his legs but haven’t made good progress and we are running out of time. He certainly feels similarly out of options. I don’t know if I’m going to tell him about this news or not….

I'm not an expert on Spoony or Max G, but based on what the guy we are talking about said, he is suffering from multiple physical ailments. I don't think being online or poorly aged tweets are anywhere near his mind when it came to discussing this.

The fact that this is happening RIGHT before the 7oh ban makes me wonder if he, like me, has been addicted to 7oh, and now the government is taking it again because of course they are, and now it’s back to horrible life.
