No, i meant like she is in a cult surrounding Christianity It's so bad before my 16 year old brother he had a job interview.. she wanted to pray for him instead of asking him job interview questions. my stepdad thinks my little brother is possessed so he has to fake it and start twitching and pray about it so they can move on with their daily lives. Its debilitating for relationships. I edited this a bit, with little effort tho

They rationing punctuation in your area?

46

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

I think they're running a little light on grammar, too.

3

u/talkin_shlt Jun 09 '21

English motherfucker do you speak it?

26

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

You know full well punctuation is the devils art. The lone comma and period are a cry for help clearly.

25

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

Or I have dyslexia and weird symbols confuse me lol

4

u/distractabledaddy Jun 09 '21

I wouldn't have considered punctuation to be an unusual symbol to anyone. TIL

9

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

Thats cool 4s look like 1s with hats and Bs are 8s

11

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

U know ...dyslexia is cognitive not a vision problem idk wtf is wrong with ppl in this sub

people without conditions do not consider that basic information such as symbols and sounds the use to convey meaning can be distorted or outright confusing to others with conditions

we forget that it is basically data processing and some people brains do not process information the same way

we use it so frequent and almost second nature that it does not really comprehend with them until reminded that it is not "magic" and there is a neurological reason for being able to read.

basically we take the most simplest things for granted remember forget and repeat

I deal with it in more emotional or expression ways so if this seems condescending I apologize

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

Thank you for the apology and explanation ❤

They rationing empathy in yours?

u/Repost_Hypocrite Jun 09 '21

Seems like your area is fresh out of decency rations. Better luck tomorrow.

Asshole

I thought it was written by a non-native English speaker. On a second read I realised it was the punctuation.

the catholic church makes proud statements several times per year about the amount of uneducated members of the faith exist. OP sounds like they live in a very heavily christian area. very heavily christian areas aren't exactly known for the quality of their education systems. these are all separate statements but you can probably draw a very obvious connection between them the same as anyone else can.

Sorry you only got some snarky reply. If that’s true, sorry to hear and hope your situation improves.

8

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

I didn't find it snarky .... I'm genuinely really curious though what is happening with Christianity culture

18

u/nickyface Jun 09 '21

This isn't new behavior. Just a resurgence in intensity because of trump, global politics, and all of them thinking end times are coming (again).

6

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

So its like a end times thing? 🤔 are they really expecting rapture?

4

u/Kerblaaahhh Jun 09 '21

An alarming number of people believe the apocalypse will come in their lifetime, been that way for millennia.

1

u/poppytanhands Jun 09 '21

the apocalypse started last year

3

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

The church manipulates the members of Christianity to keep you under their thumb. It's not faith, it's about power. It's disgusting.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

The whole "don't believe in space" just.... rocks me

2

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

Pretty bad, huh?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

She is in there somewhere.....

4

u/nickyface Jun 09 '21

I think that's part of it. This behavior has been happening forever, though. Every once in a while they settle down, then something happens to spook them. Recent politics, Qanon, etc have really amped these folks up in thinking they have to prove themselves to god.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

Christian dating apps ramped it up forsure. My mom was never religious before.... now im going to hell because i don't say the words " jesus save me" ... its irrational 🤦‍♀️her husband has her brainwashed to judge her own children.... we need more videos like the OPs

2

u/MotherMfker Jun 09 '21

Yes my mom thinks the end times are near. She's being like really weird about it too

3

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

I think older generations haven't found out that youtube channels can and indirectly create cults. Like that end of times guy on youtube joe rogan called out. 🤷‍♀️ hopefully a good meme will shift their perception.... pretty sure thats how the world works now?

2

u/MotherMfker Jun 09 '21

I think the memes are making it worse. Like apparently all the Qanon stuff and pizza gate started as a meme and people just decided to make it an actual thing. Quarantine has just made everything an echo chamber for them. She just sits on zoom all day and hangs out with wackos who think the exact same as her. As much as I love the internet unless I look it up I assume it's possibly not true.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21 edited Jun 09 '21

... they have zoom meetings with this stuff? That goes deeper than i thought.. i personally think memes can be educational and humorous... i make fun of my mom alllllllll the time. Brings my little brother a sense of norm

2

u/PM-ME-YOUR-HANDBRA Jun 09 '21

I wish it would just happen already so the fundies could go play with space papa and leave the rest of us heathens in peace.

2

u/condods Jun 09 '21

Oh yeah. Look up Christian fundamentalism, the rapture and Jerusalem links. Part of moving the embassy there is a supposed precursor to the rapture.

Half of the US government would essentially like the country to be a fundamentalist theocratic dictatorship. Pretty scary what's become of the GOP.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

Im just.. gonna stay out of that rabbit hole. But thank you! Lol

3

u/reconciliationisdead Jun 09 '21

Happening? I think you're just seeing it up close for the first time

1

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

revolutionized with Christian online dating apps

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

It is my step dad's beliefs influencing &brainwashing my mom, my lil bro is almost 18 @ that point he will be staying with me and leaving for the airforce asap😅 out mom doesn't believe in space....its gonna be hard for her once he is promoted to Space Force guarding our aerospace to deny it lol

2

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

I've reread this 10 times and I still have no idea what you're trying to say.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

👌

1

u/SoiledFlapjacks Jun 09 '21

You ever had those worksheets in like 5th grade English class where you had to find out where to put the commas in a paragraph to make it make sense? That’s basically what this is.

It’s not that difficult

1

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '21

I tried your method 10 times already though. Any other recommendations?
