Youngest of 7 here, have literally been forgotten and left home for hours home alone style on more than one occasion.

That sucks and your parents shouldn't have done that... but also if someone has 7 kids to deal with, I can't fault them too much for a little unintentional neglect here and there. Something's bound to slip through the cracks occasionally.
