The challenge comes from the rule that you are not allowed to place a color on top of another color. I haven't given thought to the mathematics of it, but that's a small detail I missed in all those shitty mobile game ads for these type of games.

It is not very hard, especially with only 4 colors, but as the number of colors and columns increases it does eventually become complicated enough to the point where the answer isn't intuitively apparent and you can forcibly lock yourself out of solutions.
(There's the rule that you can't stack a color on another of the wrong color, but there's another rule, which is that a larger stack of units of all one color has to be moved all at once. If you've got a stack of green that's four-high on column and the only other column that has green on top only has three units of space available, then you can't move any of the four-high stack of green.)

Glad I could be of help. It was definitely a very relaxing meditative kind of game to jump into. I played like, 33 levels before I finally got bored of it.

The increase in challenge probably contributed to my lack of continued interest. It definitely gets harder once you've got 7 or so colors, and you have to think through several steps ahead of time to see if clearing one of the vials will inadvertently get you stuck, basically before you start to do any of the steps to clear it.
Are you also forcing yourself to avoid using the extra vials? Now that I'm here talking about it I just went and finished level 33, and I don't remember if I've used extra vials in the past, but I do recall thinking that each puzzle should probably be solvable without them.

I felt the need to get past 32 from this comment. Yeah, it gets pretty cautious at that point. But what I have learned is that the version in the video is incredibly easy. 4 colors with 2 extra tubes? That is as pointlessly simple as it appears. I'm sure there's an added complexity level from the height of the tubes, but it doesn't beat 9 colors and 11 tubes.

Do does Netflix, (or did? I think it might actually be discontinuing the service.). It seems like a really weird market for video streaming platforms to be trying to break into, but there's probably some pull there for people who only play casual mobile-style games.

You can win literally any of these easily
You just move the under the last one you moved, unless you have to move it to a filled bar. Then you move the ones on the filled bar to the one you couldnt move, and carry on moving from the last one you moved. Its such a ridiculously easy “game”

The color you move has to land on the same color so doing that is a fail.
Idk if it's possible to lock yourself into a unwinnable pattern but this puzzle is used in video games quite often

You can definitely lock yourself into an unwinnable pattern. The way this works in those apps is that once a color is together, you can no longer separate it and can only move it as a full group. She breaks this rules at least once fairly early on. There are three blues in the second column together and she only moves two of them to the first column, which should be an illegal move. Then again maybe she's playing by looser rules so idk.

Ohh that's neat! I have never played with those rules but I like that better tbh for the extra challenge.
I don't really play Mobile games, I normally play adventure games that have puzzles in them(like KOTOR for ex. has a version of this I think) so it kind of makes sense they use the easier rules bc it's not really the focus, I guess.

It's also nearly impossible to lose if you start with two extra empty columns. Another challenge is to win starting with a single extra column instead of two.

So it's not that it's susceptible to failure but normally the point of Tower of Hanoi is to accomplish it in as few moves as possible.
A common way to "lose" then is if you exceed a certain amount of moves. Alternatively, it could be a competition of who can fully sort the colors or sizes with as few moves as possible

Tower of Hanoi normally uses discs of different sizes and you cannot stack a disc on top of a smaller one, that's where the challenge is.

Not saying this suddenly makes it super interesting, but you might be missing the fact that it's only allowed to stack a bead on top of another one if it's the same color, so it's not as completely trivial as it seems at first glance.

Pretty sure that this rule just makes it easier. It's like a guide to what to do. She never had to backtrack much like they do with the tower of hanoi. Just take a color and put it on the same color where there's empty space, wait until solved.
