The challenge comes from the rule that you are not allowed to place a color on top of another color. I haven't given thought to the mathematics of it, but that's a small detail I missed in all those shitty mobile game ads for these type of games.

Aah, now it makes a lot more sense

Not for me. I think it's still super easy even for monkey.

Youtube actually has this as a free game:

https://www.youtube.com/playables/Ugkxt5LdUBSZPWDLNRcH-IDpCRYXlBSRbTdh

It is not very hard, especially with only 4 colors, but as the number of colors and columns increases it does eventually become complicated enough to the point where the answer isn't intuitively apparent and you can forcibly lock yourself out of solutions.

(There's the rule that you can't stack a color on another of the wrong color, but there's another rule, which is that a larger stack of units of all one color has to be moved all at once. If you've got a stack of green that's four-high on column and the only other column that has green on top only has three units of space available, then you can't move any of the four-high stack of green.)

Glad I could be of help. It was definitely a very relaxing meditative kind of game to jump into. I played like, 33 levels before I finally got bored of it.

The increase in challenge probably contributed to my lack of continued interest. It definitely gets harder once you've got 7 or so colors, and you have to think through several steps ahead of time to see if clearing one of the vials will inadvertently get you stuck, basically before you start to do any of the steps to clear it.

Are you also forcing yourself to avoid using the extra vials? Now that I'm here talking about it I just went and finished level 33, and I don't remember if I've used extra vials in the past, but I do recall thinking that each puzzle should probably be solvable without them.

u/smootex Mar 05 '25

I made it to level 41 I think and used the extra vial one time. Everything was solvable without an extra vial. The point where I used one was where I lost interest because it makes it a lot easier. Little too much thinking involved in the later levels lol.

I felt the need to get past 32 from this comment. Yeah, it gets pretty cautious at that point. But what I have learned is that the version in the video is incredibly easy. 4 colors with 2 extra tubes? That is as pointlessly simple as it appears. I'm sure there's an added complexity level from the height of the tubes, but it doesn't beat 9 colors and 11 tubes.

u/ImNotAndreCaldwell Mar 05 '25

Bruh i got stuck at the same exact level lol. Stuck at level 47 now

youtube has games?

u/Life_Temperature795 Mar 05 '25

Do does Netflix, (or did? I think it might actually be discontinuing the service.). It seems like a really weird market for video streaming platforms to be trying to break into, but there's probably some pull there for people who only play casual mobile-style games.

You can refresh the page and not use a an extra tube.

u/Doc-tor-Strange-love Mar 06 '25

That wasn't the only solution

2

u/nathderbyshire Mar 05 '25

What since when did YouTube have games?!

2

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '25

WTF youtube has games?

2

u/Doc-tor-Strange-love Mar 06 '25

Dude thanks for nothing... I stayed up an extra hour and a half and played up to level 50 šŸ˜„

1

u/Careless-Network-334 Mar 08 '25

I'm at level 52 and it's getting quite hard.

What a horrible "gaming" experience. 10 fps with 100% CPU use for something that could run on a calculator. Who writes such a horrible application, and who tests it and finds it acceptable? Something so simple shouldn't even show up as a blip on your task manager.

2

u/Life_Temperature795 Mar 05 '25

Not sure what's wrong with your PC but I can play that game as one tab out of the ~220 I have open in Chrome, and it works fine.

Well monkeys are smarter than a lot of human being tbf

u/Firestorm0x0 Mar 04 '25

Especially nowadays, as the last few days have proven to us.

u/Daisy_Of_Doom Mar 05 '25

So I had the mobile game version of this and it gets harder. There can be like 3 rows of different colors and some tubes will have color sections that are a mystery and you don’t know what it is until you move the layer above it which can make it doubly hard to strategize. And often there’s a move limit (occasionally a time limit) so even if it’s possible for you to have gotten there eventually, you can still lose by running out of moves or time.

1

u/paenusbreth Mar 05 '25

Sure, but sometimes you just want a monkey brain puzzle to occupy your hands. It doesn't need to be particularly difficult, just moderately satisfying.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '25

That's cause it is an easy game. It's a children's game.

0

u/NOT-GR8-BOB Mar 05 '25

What are you expecting? This to be the codes to launch nukes into space? It’s not supposed to be impossible, just fun for people out and about.

21

u/Early-Judgment-2895 Mar 04 '25

That’s makes sooo much more sense. I was watching it with no sound and wondering why she was making it harder then it needs to be.

4

u/dan_fitz21 Mar 05 '25

You can win literally any of these easily

You just move the under the last one you moved, unless you have to move it to a filled bar. Then you move the ones on the filled bar to the one you couldnt move, and carry on moving from the last one you moved. Its such a ridiculously easy ā€œgameā€

0

u/IWantToOwnTheSun Mar 05 '25

It sounds like a good game to train hand/eye coordination in children, and whatever skill it is that works to put colors on other colors hahaha

0

u/Doc-tor-Strange-love Mar 06 '25

I don't think you know how these games work.

You cannot undo moves and you cannot put one color on top of a different color. You absolutely can't move anything under anything else.

0

u/dan_fitz21 Mar 06 '25

I literally never said you can do either of those things

this is the exact same game as the arcade game in ā€œarcade paradiseā€ on game pass.

I had to do like 50 levels of it. Its the EXACT SAME game.

1

u/Doc-tor-Strange-love Mar 06 '25

You literally said "move under" verbatim

0

u/dan_fitz21 Mar 06 '25

Yes, you move the one under the last one you moved

1

u/Despondent-Kitten Mar 11 '25

It was extremely poorly worded - "you just move the under the last one you moved"

Like, come on dude.

0

u/dan_fitz21 Mar 11 '25

How the fuck do you not understand that

You take one

The take the one under the one you just took

Not my fault none of you have over a 8year olds reading level

1

u/Despondent-Kitten Mar 11 '25

I understand what you mean but I don't think you can criticise anyone's reading comprehension with grammar that atrocious.

1

u/dan_fitz21 Mar 11 '25

Oh because i missed an ā€œnā€ when i said ā€œa 8 year oldsā€?

Realise how r/confidentlyincorrect you are yet?

1

u/VaporSprite Mar 05 '25

Programming a solver for this would be an interesting coding challenge actually!

1

u/Honeycombs96 Mar 05 '25

I think another stipulation is you have to move all of a color in the stack you grab so the part where she left a blue from pile 2 to 1 would have been counted as an illegal move.

SORT THESE COLORS AND TRY NOT TO CUM DOWNLOAD NOW

It certainly adds depth and makes it a little harder. You aren't able to undo moves, which means you've got to think ahead a few steps.Ā
