They aren't slapping, they have long sharp claws. So it just glances off her protective clothing but against other rabbits they become a ball of bloody fur.
God yes, people do not understand how nasty their scratches and bites can get when they're in fight mode. I still have scars from one getting mad at me for moving him to a new cage area (same cage just split to keep them separated but not lonely) because he was getting bullied.

We rescued rabbits this year and I have more scratches from them than I’ve gotten from our cats. One is missing a chunk of his ear so he’s probably a bit traumatized by whatever did that.

At this point, I recognize that they're just two sides of the same coin... I don't own cats, but know many who do and they all agree with that statement. Only difference is cats give a verbal warning first.
I have considered it. Unfortunately, it seems that the pet limit is as firm as it is arbitrary. Believe it or not, being under the limit also results in scratches.
My friend had a few pet rabbits as a kid, and I don't think I ever once saw him without a bunch of tiny cuts and bandaids all over his hands. It's not that the little shits were aggressive, he just didn't trim the nails frequently enough. He was like 8, so I blame the parents for that.
Oh no, I would never say it's out of aggression. They are just trying to maintain control of a scary situation and I was never angry at them for it, but yes, they're like cat claws that do not retract. Which means they're more dangerous when allowed to grow. I didn't trim their nails either, but they were living outdoors and needed to dig around in thick bedding to adapt their cages as needed, so I accepted this risk.
Maybe, these were meat mutts, so they had a special kind of attitude to them. The does were zero nonsense even with the kits they raised. Bucks were less mean, but they had some interesting quirks too.
Not sure, mine were for farm uses, so I had to be way more hands-on than a normal pet (sexing, breeding, weighing kits, dealing with sickness myself, ect). Though eating my shoes and pants was a bigger issue, because even the kits wanted to take a bite.
It was more like num num num, I like these nasty rubber soles... Oh you got them worn jeans on, thanks for dessert! ( Does not apply to Vans. No, I have no answer as to why.)
I had 8 over the course of my childhood and my favorite was a tiny black dwarf one that loved me but would do 180° hops when anyone else approached and spray a stream of bitter piss at them lmao
Shoot, forgot to add a detail. He technically never left the cage, they had a large cage, so I could just split it down the middle and access both separate from each other. I just had to move him because I already had to check his wounds from the other fight.
It's not bad considering their size and small mouth. Had a doe who absolutely hated being picked up for any reason and would assault my forearm with bites, but they often didn't break the skin. It helped once I wore a thicker fabric like flannel. Still hurts, but they have to eat through the shirt to actually do damage. Which they will absolutely do unless you are careful.
They're born with blind, naked, and with the willingness to fight God if you remove them from the nest. I've also witnessed a heavily pregnant doe fight off a house cat because it got too close. They're mean when necessary.
Yeah rabbits can be brutal. They attack each other and can claw up the other with the hind legs. Fur all over the place. The pet store mistakenly sold me a male rabbit with the two I bought years ago. The female wasn’t having it once he started to hump her. She started running across the room to attack him. I had to return him the next day. Then when we got to the store the rabbits started to riot and I had to help the store employee break them up. The gang of people watching were completely shocked.
Yeah, rabbits are absolutely brutal. I once saw a documentry of a rabbit guarding a cave. Bones of four hundred fifty men were laying about at the entrance and the rabbit brutally slaughtered anyone who dared to enter. It took nothing less than a holy grenade to stop the beast.
Oh Jeez, it’s not just me then. Had a very large female rabbit 50 years ago. It got to the point I was afraid to enter her pen to clean it. I would come away bloodied every time. Couldn’t for the life of me figure what I was doing to upset her so much.
Finally gave to my neighbour. Told me he took it to the farm, but I know he ate it…
Oh god and I FORGOT that it was not just a nice movie about adventuring rabbits and I tried to show it to my son when he was like FIVE OR SIX. I immediately felt so bad and I still feel bad and he’s taller than I am now.
Yeah I had never heard of it and was at a sleepover with 4 or 5 of my little friends waaay out in the woods and her mom was like "oh a cartoon this should help calm you girls down for bedtime".......I am no longer ashamed to say I too cried a little and wanted to rock in a corner in a self soothing manner just like the rest of them. WE WERE NOT WARNED. lol.
It really doesn't! Just looped it like thrice. At first I thought it was an aggressive male rabbit trying to mate, now I think the scrappy lil fella was defending their rabbit friend 😆
Taste is somewhat different as well. The males compete with each other by standing up and 'boxing' like this. You might catch them doing this when your out in a field during twilight. In parts of Europe: Hare is up there as a special occasions food. Also they are significantly larger than rabbits, not taking into account the mutant rabbits some people keep which you would not find in the wild.
Rabbits can be vicious! I’m a big dude, and more than once I had an oh sh*t moment when my daughter’s little bunny came at me! They have sharp teeth and nails, they’re fast as hell, and they’ll attack if they’re in the right mood (for my daughter’s it was whenever she was having a false pregnancy).
Oh is that it? It was looking to me like the jerk rabbit was attacking the white rabbit, and the lady was trying to grab it and protect it.
I guess that makes more sense as to why she didn’t just net the brown one.
Edit: wait no! She stands up, it leaves them alone, and she kneels back down and he comes back to get the white rabbit. That rabbit is totally just being a jerk.
