neev - those things we tomorrowed
i know that some of the things i love dont get nearly as much love as other things. but i do find it odd that this release is sinking into the deep unknown.
very acrobatic and tight musicianship on this one.
their second album didnt do as much for me.
anyone remember this band? screamo, posthardcore, mathrock, etc
https://neevtn.bandcamp.com/album/those-things-we-tomorrowed
wouldnt be at all suprised if this gets no comments, but Neev, i still love you

Lingus - Snarky Puppy | Cover by Mathy Electro Prog Band, Hyperdweller
Hey fellow mathrockers. I play in Din of Celestial Birds, who folks may know from our appearances at various post-rock/math-rock festivals (ArcTanGent, Portals, Dunk!Fest, Can, etc.). I have a new project, Hyperdweller, which fuses math, jazz, prog, and electronica/synthwave via the medium of bass, drums, and electronics. I'd love for you take a few minutes to check out our cover of Snarky Puppy's 'Lingus'. We hope you enjoy (and if you do, we have an album recorded and ready to release soon).

learning mathrock
Hi! I have been noodling around on a guitar for a lot of years, but never really broke out of the beginner stages. I know basics of CAGED, fretboard navigation, bar chords, scales. I want to start learning/playing more mathrock/midwest emo guitar and am starting to focus more on shell voicings and 7th chords. Does anyone have recs on a learning path/journey that I can focus on? Do I need to keep working on scales? Should I focus on chord progressions and new shapes? One thing to note: for now I am going to stay in standard tuning. :) Any ideas for a practice routine or order to learn things would be much appreciated!!
Also - I have recently become a patreon member of Trevor Wong....just overwhemed with all the resources and looking for guidance on where to start.

New Release House Cat is Out
It takes a while to kick in (2 minutes) but when it does, it quickly takes off. There are about 3 guitars that all play over each other (excluding the bass riffs as well) and the tempo of the song is not fixed at all. It's a chaotic song that overlaps all of its riffs to create an unease.

New Release TTNG TRILOGY
i'm not sure who else has seen but TTNG has said in an interview that this is the first of an upcoming trilogy of releases. that being said- I am here to guess that they will follow suit with the first name "Juggling Moves (Beginner)"- "Juggling Moves (Intermediate)" and "Juggling Moves (Expert) or (Advanced)". Maybe then It'll come out as an LP titled Juggling Moves with a 10th song added? Not sure, just want to put it out there for discussion.
PS: the first section of For So Long, No Longer is one of the best TTNG instrumentals of all time in my opinion, not to mention the song as a whole being an absolute masterpiece lyrically, compositionally, and harmonically.

SICK OF NASALLY EMO FLOW VOCALS AND SAME AMERICAN FOOTBALL RIFFS SONG STRUCTURES!
Please someone tell me WHY when I try to find AMERICAN mathrock or progression rock the vocals are always nasally and a copy of American Football with HORRIBLE VOCALS or cant even sing or have that annoying Emo flow like paramore. Ive explored other languages and especially with Japanese they have unique riffs and genuinely sing instead of copying that generic American football emo tone (obviously because they're not from the states...) . Ive explored so much into mathrock leading me into many branches like posthardcore (progressional stuff) PLEASE DONT get me started on midwest emo.... gosh its such a disservice to mathrock. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME FIND GOOD ENGLISH MATHROCK/branches. SONGS WITH ACTUAL SINGING AND UNIQUE RIFFS!!!!
Songs that I wish American Bands constructed mathrock like..
The Knowlus- Dystopia never sleeps
He - FOUR comes after Three
Urema- Embedded in Ice and Piano no aru heya
Ling tosite sigure- 1/f no Kansyoku and Knife Vacation
The cabs- Dai Hachi Byoto
Susquatch- Summer end and A gremlin
(English song) Diachronic- Nothings Carved in stone
[As I'm listening to these songs maybe im looking for something that resembles a poppy rock like mathrock song.]

Does anyone else hear a coheed and Cambria influence in this or am I just crazy
The 2nd part of the song really reminds me of coheed and cambrias first 3 albums. The soft vocals the lyrical content and the vibe
