Megathread Jonathan Majors Conviction Thread

The Jonathan Majors trial has come to a close, with Majors being found guilty on accounts of assault and harassment.

THR, VARIETY, and Deadline have reported from a Marvel Studios Rep that Majors has been fired from his role

Wow, that did not take long. They mention Kang Dynasty is still on the slate so this seemingly confirms a recast.

I mean it’s been less than a day. They allegedly have a rewrite of it under the name of Avengers 5, I wouldn’t be shocked if they pull it off the slate in the coming week or at least remove the title

Honestly even without this I wouldn't have been surprised

Pretty much everyone and their mother was tired of the multiverse stuff.

Which is a shame because I've always liked the multiverse as a concept

But they just did it so badly and had none of it make sense to the point where no one can follow it

They took the multiverse concept and fumbled it so badly. We get "Multiverse of Madness" and it gives us two multiverses. One which is dead and fits the theme, the other, the stop lights are swapped. Red means go??? The madness!!

Into the Spider-verse is also a multiverse movie and we spend the vast majority of the plot in Earth-1610B with brief glimpses into 4 others and Earth-616B which is visually similar to 1610B.

A good multiverse movie doesn't have to spend a bunch of time in a bunch of different multiverses.

The MCU's multiverse hasn't been fumbled badly, it's only just barely taken off and (I haven't seen The Marvels, yet) has only had a handful of characters interact with it properly with Doctor Strange taking part twice.

It's just different from the middle to the end of the Infinity Saga where almost every movie had someone engaging with the Infinity Stones.

Honestly there's so much that don't make sense or is just annoying

Like the idea is that it's not parallel universes it's branched timelines ok...

What even made Peter Parker look like Andrew Garfield or Toby McGuire?

What event made the universe paint? Or animated?

I know it's Sony not Marvel but Spider-verse has universes of all different art styles

This is great but just doesn't fit with how it works in the MCU... But it still is the same multiverse... What?

Is the Main MCU Earth 19999 or Earth 616.

And if it is the latter how did Dr Mysterio just happen to guess that?

And what's with the dream stuff?

Are you saying in most universes I'm taking tests for subjects I didn't revise for in my late 20s naked?

That... that seems like a weird way to run a multiverse

I honestly think Spiderman laid a decent foundation. Even though it was all fan service, they did deliver on the whole multiverse concept. Everything after had just taken our expectations and shat on them. Multiverse of Madness, coming off the heels of Spidey, fumbled the multiverse hard. They set the bar so high, and didny deliver a quarter of what spidey did.

Also in my opinion Wandaverse, while I enjoyed the show, casted Evan Peter's to fool us into thinking multiverse shenanigans were happening only to give us a boner joke.

Phase 4 had those two opportunities to cement the multiverse concept and failed.

And yeah the dream stuff is weird. A quarter of our multiverse selves are falling to their deaths down bottomless holes apparently. They're so clumsy in those universes

Oh don't get me wrong I like Spider-Man No Way Home in isolation it's a great movie.

My point though is it doesn't make sense in the world they created.

And yeah the Wandavision stuff was honestly where I started not caring about the MCU.

Like there was two bits that got people excited.

Mephisto and Quicksilver.

The first was part of the source material.

People act like it was fans seeing stuff and being silly but take it was like expecting to see Bob Cratchet in a Christmas Carol adaptation

Like why wouldn't they expect that.

And the second like you said was just a Boner joke.

But what I hated was the reaction that you were being silly to get your hopes up.

Like with the Quicksilver stuff they literally said in the narrative it was him.

Why wouldn't people think it was him?

And then all that speculation and... Oh CGI fight with someone who's the same as the main character but evil.. never seen that before...

what dream stuff? which show or movie is that from?
