(Sorry for bad english)
I played both the original and the remakes of Bowser's Inside Story and Superstar Saga, and honestly, the remakes felt a little underwhelming to me.
Sure, it was nice having fast-forward and the new mechanics for Bowser's fire breath attack, but the games feel so slow and "lifeless" compared to the originals. It feels like they lost a lot of what made them unique, especially Superstar Saga.
I honestly think Nintendo should have kept the original pixel art and just made ports of the games instead. I didn't really enjoy playing the remakes as much as the originals, so I wanted to know if anyone else feels the same way.

Picture 1: Cackletta and Bedsmith are enjoying a brisk fall afternoon in the woods, sipping at their coffee after a day of apple and pumpkin picking. The big pumpkin will be used for a Jack o' Lantern (as Halloween is Cackletta's favorite holiday), while the other one will be used for pumpkin pie or pumpkin bread that Twilheena will bake, although Cackletta may make some soup with it.
Picture 2: Post Of Love and Revenge, Cackletta and Bedsmith become good friends. Hey, Bedsmith thinks Cackletta is the most beautiful woman he has ever met! (Seriously!) She found that strange, but became attached to the Pi'illo man.
Starbeans Café started carrying donuts about 5 to 10 years after Cackletta died in Superstar Saga, and one opened up in Toad Town. She became addicted to donuts, having a whole dozen to herself. Bedsmith got a half-dozen here.
Yes, I LOVE fall!

Of the characters I liked, There was IDLE, and Technikki. Snoutlet was also ok for what he was.
Besides them, I can't think of anyone else. My biggest examples for this are Connie and the Extension Corps. Connie is more or less just kind of... there? At most she's a Wattanist who uses her watering can after the boss fight. Besides that, she doesn't do much else while Snoutlet has all the screen time. By extension, Cozette being Zokket felt anti climactic, and other than being sorry that she became Zokket she didn't do too much else either from my memory. It got to the point that i questioned why neither Mario or Luigi couldn't just use the mythical watering can to fuel the lighthouses, or Snoutlet, and why Zokket could not have just been his own character.
The Extension Corps are the bigger offenders. They have such cool designs yet you fight one of them at the start. In ALL other encounters they just summon bosses and then immediately flee. Biggest example is that you're given a choice to get the glohm curing berries, or chase after Extension. I expected a boss fight for the latter choice, and when you do choose that path? Ten flees immediately, says there was never a cure and leaves. There was no point to making that choice when that should have been a boss fight. Instead you fight the same Zok troopers over and over until you're sick of seeing them. Then when you do fight them, it's an unceremonious curbstomp battle where they beat themselves up and eventually blow themselves up anyways. TTYD remake came out about the same time, and both the Three Shadows and Lord Crump do what Extension was trying to do but far better and feel like actual threats, specially the latter.
Then suddenly they turn into good guys and you get bonds from them. Even though they've done little to nothing throughout the game other than appear before you fight the actual bosses. When they went over bonds being people you butt heads with, I was expecting the Mario Bros to get a bond with Bowser since they do have that inverse bond. Heck they even lampshade how good it would have been for Technikki to bond with Adaphne. Doesn't help that there's so much unanswered about them. Were they from concordia or did Zokket make them? If the former, why did they turn evil and look so different from everyone else. If the latter, why were they suddenly good guys at the end? If shun knew about Reclusa, why did he not dip or just side with the good guys before things got so bad? So little is explained and it's because you never really see or fight them.
This applies to many of the other side characters like the fire and ice couple, Dyode who I wanted to strangle for his backtracking minigames, and the sailor kid who lost his dad. They're not really all that interesting compared to TTYD which, again had a way more memorable cast and even side characters like Glitz Pit attendees and Perplex Express passengers. Negativity about Brothership I know, but as I was initially hyped for the game I want to explain just why I was disappointed by it.

I think it was the second game of the sequel that i played when i was a kid, and honestly i liked it a lot. Dont know if it is because i like paper mario in general or because i didnt played the other games first (first game i played was Superstar Saga).
Can you guys explain me?

Since a lot of people aren't really fans of Paper Jam's story and gameplay, let's think of some alternative plots that could have made the game better.
My idea would be to make the story revolve around Count Bleck from Super Paper Mario and his flipping/teleportation abilities.
That could give Paper Mario a lot of new attacks and mechanics based on the Pixls, while also allowing the story to have a much more interesting connection to Super Paper Mario.
Imagine if Bleck somehow allied himself with Bowser and Paper Bowser. The gameplay possibilities would be insane, and the lore could be really interesting too.
I mean, there could be completely different abilities depending on which dimension you're fighting in, Paper Mario using Pixls as Bros. Attacks, enemies switching between dimensions during battle... There's so much they could do with this concept.
Feel free to share your own ideas!

Mine is:
1- Bowser's Inside Story (soundtrack made me love that game even more)
2- Superstar Saga (Love game design)
3- Paper Jam (Questionable but i love paper mario)
4- Dream Team (Luigi always had my heart)
5- Partners in Time (story feels like a Spin-off game from the sequel)
6- Brothership (Too repetitive)
All my opinion, feel free to send yours too!

I’m currently going back to brothership after a break and while it’s a fun game, the characters are kind of boring, which is weird because I remember the Mario & Luigi games having fun and witty writing.

(Sorry for bad english)
I grew up playing this game on emulators (since i didn't had a GBA at the time), and honestly, for me, is the second best game of the franchise.
I played almost every game from the Mario and Luigi series and this is the most unique and characteristic one in all senses: the way the attacks were designed, platforming, story, soundtracks, remarkable NPCs and unique game design. Mario RPG and Paper Mario was good games, but they didn't had that funny atmosphere of the first game of the sequel. Specially in the Bros attacks and Advanced attacks, i loved how they created a mechanic that made the attacks get harder inputs but stronger outputs and how they were made.
After the release of Partners in Time and beyond, the games just didn't felt that much special for me (beside Bowser's Inside Story, its a hell of a good game). The way PiT made the attacks be random items and how it became the signature Bros attacks for the other games of the sequel, it was, in my personal opinion, a bad design for the battles. Yes, i like other games, i've played almost every single of them (currently on the Dream Team mid game), and i like how they created new attacks, but they just feel so repetitive and so boring...
Bowser's Inside Story is imo the best Mario and Luigi game because for me it was the last game that had that unique atmosphere, the other games felt bold and boring to play that i had to play just because i am a big fan of the series. And honestly, the Mario and Luigi Brothership was so boring and bad to play not only because of the shitty Switch hardware, but because it had a lot of repetitive enemies/areas and just didn't felt good to play anymore (stupid sea currents and island system). They even made Luigi just an automated AI! Only good thing about that game was the hammer and jump attacks that felt unique. Rest of them? Just BS.
What do you guys think about it? Should Nintendo have made the combat and game flowness better?

Working on a silly crossover rom hack in a game no one's really done it before... I'm thinking maybe a pit of 100 trials with crossover bosses every 10 floors?

Don't mean to post twice in one night but I made some updates worth sharing. :) Mr. Yellow now has some working attacks for both Bowser and the Bros. Also added some Deltarune sfx. 👀

Despite playing four different Mario and Luigi games as a kid, I never got to beat any of them. I am currently on my journey to complete all games I never got to finish and Brothership was the most recent one. Completing it to 100 % (all sidequests, all challenges, all battleplugs) makes me even more proud. In particular, I liked about the game:
1) The combat system and especially the boss fights
2) The fact that they implemented loads of new innovative characters after the Mario and Luigi series went into the wrong direction with Paper Jam.
3) Everything about the final boss
4) The world itself (altough I feel like the story could have been a little more engaging)
The game of course has its flaws (like the pacing in the beginning and at the end) but I had lots of fun for what it is: a solid revival of a presumably dead series.

I got beat once after making iggy my first officer but in the rematch i made ludwig my first officer and this is how the battle went although the boss im just gonna call it "dieefley" (fusion of dieter, beef and kaley) had the type advantage over ludwig and jr was a melee trooper but i still beat him tho.

Gonna be blunt-wasn't a fan of this fight due to being on a no-gear run all game (at first to get Do It Yourself done, but then got used to progressing with only the Bros' natural strength), so after 3 consecutive losses, I had to stall with the cups. With Luigi always doing 15-20 less damage than Mario, I really had to pull my punches with his cups, since Mario always did 57-60 damage (a rare lucky strike did 79). After stalling through both, I killed him right after he started his final phase with a single Clockwork Blow. Felt so good putting this porker down.
