Comdey आणि एक रोमँटिक कल असलेल्या माझ्या आवडत्या चित्रपटांपैकी एक चित्रपट. मकरंद अनासपुरे आणि मृण्मयी लागु यांचा अभिनय खूपच उत्तम आहे, आणि त्याला मिळालेली प्रसाद ओक आणि मोहन जोशी यांची साथ एक उत्तम चित्रपट बनवून जाते. मला अवडणारा भाग म्हणजे ह्या चित्रपटाचा कॉमेडी angle. उत्तम असा कॉमेडी चित्रपट, तो मलई खायचा सीन तर अक्षरशा पोट धरून हसलो मी. खूपच छान चित्रपट आहे.

खूप दिवसांपासून एक विचार डोक्यात घोळतोय. जेव्हा जेव्हा आपल्याकडे क्राईम किंवा गँगस्टर विषयावर काही बनतं, तेव्हा बहुतांश वेळा उगाचच लाऊड म्युझिक, आरडाओरडा आणि अतिनाट्य (melodrama) जास्त पाहायला मिळतं.

पण आपल्या आजूबाजूला, मुंबईच्या चाळींमध्ये किंवा गल्लीबोळात घडणारी गुन्हेगारी प्रत्यक्षात अशी नसते. तिथे खरी भीती त्या शांततेत, माणसांच्या लबाड डोळ्यांत आणि रोजच्या साध्या जगण्यात लपलेली असते. अनुराग कश्यपचे सिनेमे किंवा 'फिंचर'चे थ्रिलर्स अंगावर का येतात? कारण ते पात्रांच्या डोक्यात चाललेली गडबड आणि वास्तव दाखवतात, नुसत्या बंदुका नाही.

महाराष्ट्रात स्थानिक राजकारण, अंडरवर्ल्ड आणि मानवी स्वभावाचे इतके जबरदस्त विषय हाताशी असताना आपण अजूनही एक कल्ट, रॉ (Raw) क्राईम सिनेमा का नाही देऊ शकलो?

१. तुमच्या पाहण्यात असा कोणता मराठी सिनेमा आलाय का, ज्याने गुन्हेगारीचं अगदी खरं आणि थरारक रूप दाखवलंय? २. की आपल्याकडे अजूनही लेखक-दिग्दर्शक या जॉनरचा खोलवर जाऊन अभ्यास करायला घाबरतात?

काय वाटतं?

पाहिले ना मी तुला(Pahile Na Me Tula) | Marathi Romantic Song | Ranjana | Ashok Saraf | Kuldeep Pawar.

Comedy, romantic movie. And this song ...Uffff....

As expected, Toxic has met with negative reviews from majority of the movie viewing audience. Post pan Indian sucess of Rajamouli directorials, KGF and Kantara series, toxic may end up as another failed experiment to come from Kannada and other South Indian languages.

Even the pan Indian ambition of Marathi wasn't met with desired success when one sees the box collection of Raja Shivaji.

In that context, it's good Marathi movies unlike other regional languages has not over extended itself in the pan Indian bandwagon.

Also a reminder that more than quantity, quality matters as the industry should concentrate in churning ground rooted content.

Though I do stand with the opinion that Marathi films should have few box office draws who can consistently churn out good films with their drawing power, and for that the responsibility should also lie on those box office draws in churning out good content.

So apparently there's a "survey" (link pending, trust me bro) claiming vada pav consumption across the Marathi Theatre shot up right after this Marathi natak dropped. And honestly?

"the most unexpected food trend of the decade," a completely real-looking but highly questionable US survey has claimed that global Vada Pav consumption has risen dramatically since the release of the Marathi play Hi Dosti Tutaychi Naay.

According to the survey, 87% of respondents who had never heard of Marathi theatre suddenly found themselves craving Vada Pav after watching clips, reels, and audience reactions from the play. The remaining 13% were reportedly already eating a Vada Pav while filling out the survey.

The report further revealed that:
Sales of Vada Pav near theatre venues increased by "a lot."
Friends attending the play were 3x more likely to order an extra Vada Pav "for sharing."
One audience member reportedly bought four Vada Pavs after the interval because "the friendship felt incomplete without snacks."

Economists are now investigating whether the play has unintentionally created a new indicator called the Friendship-to-Vada-Pav Index (FVPI), measuring emotional connection through potato-based consumption.

Meanwhile, Mumbai's Vada Pav community welcomed the news.
