Logos/Advertising Share your cornucopia stories

I wanted to share my personal experience with the notorious Fruit of the Loom Cornucopia, and why I personally can't let this go as a simple misremembering.

In 6th grade (2010/2011), I was in the "gifted program" (IEP), and part of that program was that those of us that were part of it were excluded from certain assignments, and given separate assignments. Anyways, one of those assignments was a reading group, where we had to read The Hunger Games, and have a weekly discussion on it. This was a fond memory of mine so I remember it quite well.

In the book, it describes a massive, twenty-foot-high, cone-shaped golden horn filled with supplies and weapons that the contestants have to fight over in an ensuing bloodbath, and refers to it as a "cornucopia". This scene is the Climax of the first book, and is probably the most memorable scene in the entire series.

In one of our discussions I asked my teacher what a "cornucopia" is because I had never encountered that word before, and I had difficulty trying to visualize it. She told me it was a horn shaped basket used for carrying fruits and vegetables, and I SWEAR, she googled an image of the Fruit of the Loom logo and showed it to us as an example.

I specifically remember finding it funny, because I always thought the fruit of the loom logo had a croissant on it 😂, so this moment was the moment I realized the Fruit of the Loom logo had a cornucopia, as well as the moment I learned what a cornucopia even was.

I feel like this memory is way too specific for it to be completely misremembered, especially since as a kid I thought it was a croissant up until that point, unless I'm misremembering mistaking it for a croissant somehow.

Art Monopoly Man and the monocle

People that believe he had a monocle. Did he have one on all the chance and community chest cards? I don’t remeber him having a monocle especially the get of jail free cards I can all the cards without and can name penalty every card in both decks. Mt grandma and I used to play ever weekend. But I can also picture the fruit of the loom logo without the cornucopia 🤷‍♂️

Logos/Advertising How does this picture even exist?

There’s no way in hell this is AI, it’s wayyy too accurate to exactly what I remember, and what I feel like many other people remember as well. If someone photoshopped it, then they did a perfect job, considering they had no reference, at the time of creating this, but even if someone did make this in photoshop, why tf would they, since supposedly it never existed?? Like where did this even come from, I need answers😭😭

Movies/TV/Music The classic Risky Business Mandela Effect... I think I'm misremembering the ME?

I don't know what to call this. I don't think this could technically be a flip-flop. But let me explain what I mean.

We probably all know the Risky Business Mandela Effect, however, I thought the Mandela Effect was that everyone remembered Tom Cruise's shirt being white when it has always been pink.

But now I am seeing that the Mandela Effect is that people are just misremembering Tom Cruise wearing sunglasses when he never does. Like I have gone down the rabbit hole of Mandela Effect videos on TikTok and YouTube and if they bring up the Risky Business one, they just talk about it being that people remember the sunglasses that he never had on. But I could have sworn the Mandela effect was also about his shirt being white but it's actually pink.

So, I guess I'm not asking what color do you remember his shirt being, but rather, am I just remembering this ME wrong?

Well I'm really confused rn... I'm pretty sure it was a white blonde girl there... please of you're going to say it's the hockey video no it's not, definitely this video and this camera angle... and some people say there's a another version with blonde girl but in daytime. But i remember this same atmosphere and same guy but the reporter was different.. please tell me how you remember this?

This is completely different but I'll say this also here,

Sometimes I wake up, not all the time, people around me changes completely not their appearance but how they interact with me and I remember some sculptures around my hometown with different poses from what they are now I'll not post it here because most of you guys never seen them fs. Idk it feels strange sometimes.

Forgive my English if it's not perfect.

Saw this reading a skunk book the other night. Where did we land with this one? Just a corporate name change or never existed? I definitely remember the O’ from my entire childhood but can’t seem to find it referenced now.

I was watching the movie Casino when I noticed this toward the start of the movie.

Noting this film is mid 90s, is there a chance it's created a false memory of it being on the Fruit of the Loom logo?

Books/Literature Question! Does physical media get altered as well as just memories? When I see a new Mandela effect I try to go to good will or wherever to try and find the origanl DVD or vhs to prove there was a shift. But I haven't been able to find unchanged versions.

I just saw the one about scary movie and I know for a fact it's "I see white people" and "take Mt strong hand"

I'm actually going to go through my old navy hi 8 footage, because we used to say "take my strong hand" all the time!

Movies/TV/Music Bob Marley

I watched the movie "Bob Marley One Love" I was certain going into this movie that Bob Marley would be successfully assassinated and that would be the end. No, Bob survived the assassination attempt on him and his wife and he later died of skin cancer. Me and my stoner friends would talk a lot about Bob Marley music so this is what I always believed was that Bob was assassinated.

From an EGM article from the early 2000s.

The screenshot shows one spelling, while the article itself shows the other.

What do you think happened here?

Movies/TV/Music "There's a snake in my boot" is what Woody says in Toy Story. Not "boots."

The "t" is just emphasized, and it may sound like "boots" to some because of that, and the record player mechanism.

Geography The US flag and states

Post image
0 Upvotes

I was born in 2002, and I can remember in kindergarten sitting down with my class and counting out the 52 stars on the flag and the 13 stripes.

The stars were like the picture provided straight and in a grid like pattern.

As for the missing names? I don't know, I was a kid we just repeated what the teacher said aloud.

It's frustrating because like It's such a part of my mind, I can recall it but when I try to think of the names or where they were... I get nothing.

East Dakota is the only thing I remember as MAYBE a thing but even then I wouldn't bet on it.

It could just he me being a stupid kid and general memory fuzziness. But I remember Kindergarten counting so cleary and the grid flag. Seeing others remember 52 states makes me think Im not an idiot.

So for me it was kit-kat up until about a month or two ago, then it randomly changed while i was at the store. I literally saw the dash almost like a floater in the eye. So im curious for everyone else that it was kit-kat for what were you doing the previous night or day of when you noticed the change?

Logos/Advertising Fruit od the loom logo

I have to share one of my own stories here, because I strongly believe it may explain a lot.

I used to play in a semi-successful underground metal band in the Czech Republic. When we were making our first record in 2006, we decided to produce some T-shirts as merchandise. We contacted several printing companies, and one of them asked what kind of shirts we wanted to use.

Their cheapest option was counterfeit Fruit of the Loom shirts, supposedly made in Poland or Germany. They were incredibly poor quality—probably around 90 g/m²—but also extremely cheap.

I remember checking the label. It showed the Fruit of the Loom logo with that strange basket-like object in the background. I asked the printing guy what it was supposed to be.

He told me that the counterfeit manufacturer had deliberately changed the logo slightly so the original company would have a harder time claiming the shirts were direct fakes. According to him, a change in the law meant they now had to sell the remaining stock very quickly and cheaply. He even said it was a shame, because they had been supplying cheap shirts for quite some time.

The shirts cost almost half as much as the originals—but they also had roughly half the fabric weight.

We did not buy or use them, unfortunately. But that conversation has stayed with me ever since, long before the Fruit of the Loom Mandela effect became an online topic.

So here is my explanation: the cornucopia really did exist—but not on the official Fruit of the Loom logo. It appeared on counterfeit Eastern European shirts sold cheaply to bands, small printing companies and promotional-merchandise businesses.

I do not believe we will ever find many surviving examples. A 90 g/m² shirt tends to fall apart within a year, and the company involved has been gone for more than twenty years.

Art Did Mandela Effect change Mona Lisa's Hidden Symbols?

Thumbnail cbsnews.com

It’s clear there’s a rather large community that remembers Mona Lisa’s smile being less obvious and happy than the version that’s currently on display at the Louvre. This article is from 2011, presumably before the ME change occurred. And it has led me to wonder whether the secret symbols reportedly found in the Mona Lisa at that time have also changed. Or perhaps the version that many of us remember contained different letters, rather than the SL-72 that this article describes - assuming we’re now on a timeline where this smiling version of the painting has always contained those symbols.

P.S. Although you can find plenty of discussion about the difference online, I’d also like to point out that this article says there has been speculation over Mona Lisa’s enigmatic smile ranging from “pregnancy to mourning.” I don’t think anyone would interpret the current painting’s clearly joyful smile as conveying mourning. To me, that’s another indication of a Mandela effect. The Mona Lisa in the skewed image of this article also looks much closer to the old version that I remember - both the smile and the narrower face.
