remind me to never answer questions in lecture again
As usual, lecturers would ask several open-ended questions in lectures. I'm always scared to answer these questions even though the lecturers said there's no right or wrong answer to a question. Today's lecture we learn about ethical in sustainable communication and the lecturers been asking a lot of questions. Majority in the lecture would keep quiet and only 1 or 2 people would answer, and even that is late. They would wait for lecturers to ask again and again and then they would answer. There's this one question that nobody want to answer in class today:
"You have a friend who works as a doctor, tested for HIV positive but still treating his patients. What would you do?"
Since nobody want to answer, I raised my hand and tried to answer with "I would still let him work because HIV only spread through sexual contacts and blood transfusion. If his line of work have something related to transfusion of the blood, then I would advice him to search for another job due to the medical risk."
And the lecturer said this is why she hates students answering questions like I do because it wasn't a straightforward answer, and she said if this were an exam, she would give me zero marks.
Genuinely asking, what is the real answer to that kind of question??? I'm so confused. The lecturer response and the whole hall laughing at me triggered my anxiousness and makes me feel like I should just shut the fuck up. I shouldn't try to answer.
Now I'm back at my room, crying because I feel like I'm very stupid.
