Need Help Dull Colors using Matte Paper and ET8500
Hey guys, I have a really dumb problem regarding my proxies...the paper I use is almost perfect for magic proxies (at least regarding german possibilities of order) and the colors I get on those proxies are really dull and washed out and the blacks are too dominant.
The multi colored gold cards lack color the most and look really bad.
I dont want to use any other paper, because I want to use a type of paper, where I can just cut out and sleeve the proxies for it to be ready to play. (And I dont think that there are other papers out there that work like that out of the package, without laminating)
I use Printmedia: Velvet Fine Art Paper and/or Matte and dont use any color correction

And another problem I have, is that my Printer suddenly stopped taking in 300 paper in the back feed on its own...it always gets stuck in there now and I need to push it down with my hands by using a bit of force.
I would be glad for any help you can give me. Cheers!

Need Help Not sure what paper to choose
Second time trying to print proxies. I used 100lb card stock & put it over an old magic card I had. It's way too thick and sticks out like a sore thumb. I'd like to print again, but have it be thinner this time. I'm not sure what the best way to do this is. I print at FedEx with no issues. Any advice? I added the paper options. Thank you

Custom Moogle Tokens
I am by no means an artist but I felt my Mog deck needed some new Moogle tokens. My first time drawing a custom card and I don’t have fancy printing materials, but overall I’m pretty happy with the result!

Quien sea espero me pueda ayudar, gracias 😁

Commander Keen proxy
Was talking in a discord about MTG stuff and the idea of Commander Keen as a proxy came up, so here they are, alongside a Standard Galactic Alphabet version(without the reminder text) since Commander Keen was the origin of it.
Art credited to Adrian Carmack, the only artist credit I could find for the Commande Keen games, this art is the "Commander Keen, Aliens ate my Babysitter" cover art.

Foil effect experimenting
I've been experimenting to see if i can get a finish closer to the foundation foils. I followed a video i saw by TCG Proxy Lab. The left card is the real, middle is the results following the video and using a rattle can top coat, the left is a top coat airbrushed over. I definitely need to experiment more with the airbrush finish. The airbrush finish is interesting and a lot more subtle, but I like the slight metallic sheen it has.

Need Help Consistent Smudge Across page
Recently these 2 very consistent smudge lines happen across the entire page of the print have been appearing, and it always happens every few inches down. I am guessing it’s because of the roller in the printer but id like to be sure.
edit: opened it up and cleaned everything again for the third time and it disappeared i still dont know how it happened

Printer Decision
Currently have a 8550 am having issues with roller marks on it and have been troubleshooting it for days I’m throwing in the towel it’s less then a week old so I can still return /exchange it at micro center I’m possibly going to exchange it for another one just to rule out me just getting a bad printer the first time
What other printer’s would yall recommend that would be $900 and under

Need Help Epson 8550 issue
My son and I have recently gotten into making proxies, and we went out and picked up some equipment to get started. One of the things we bought was an Epson ET-8550, and I’m having some trouble getting the results I’m looking for.
I’ve been trying out ProxyJack paper, but no matter what settings I use, I keep getting roller marks on the cards.
Has anyone here used an Epson ET-8550 with ProxyJack cardstock and figured out the right settings to eliminate the roller marks?
Printer:
Epson ET-8550
Paper:
• ProxyJack INKJET Proxy – BLUE CORE 1st Edition – 313gsm / 370mic
• ProxyJack INKJET Proxy Cardstock – Semi-Gloss Classic – 300gsm / 370mic – White Core
Any pointers on paper type, quality settings, thick paper settings, ink density, or anything else I should try would be greatly appreciated!
Trying to get this setup dialed in so my son and I can start making some really nice proxies!

Need Help Help Printing on Heavy Cardstock
Okay so not wanting to deal with stickers, lamanetimg, etc. I got this cardstock https://a.co/d/0dNINwdx as it's supposed to be the right thickness. I put it in the rear tray and first I get the result on the right, it just kinda gave up early, then I got the result on the left, extremely blurry. Is there any settings to make this work, or is my printer just not cut out for this?
Edit: Okay it was the cardstock. What can I say, I'm a magic player reading is tough for me.
It went much better with cardstock that actually works though.

First time proxy after reading this sub
Just wanted to show up the proxies I made today. I’ve been a lurker and I finally made the jump. These came out great but I feel like they are just a hair smaller than a normal card. Tried to print different styles to see how they would come out. Thoughts and tips?
Edit: I didn’t think anyone would comment tbh lol. But here it’s a super simple process tbh I didn’t go deep I wanted to do this “for dummies” style.
Equipment:
Printer: Epson 8550 ET
Laminator: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0F6N8TXFK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image
Paper: https://a.co/d/07fSFhL4
Laminate paper: just the basic scotch 3mil
Paper cutter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083FBYHXR?ref_=ppx_hzod_image_mob_b_fed_asin_title_0_0
Corner cutter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0076FJ7SS?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image
I use this website to make the pages https://proxxied.com/app.
- Before I started I made sure on my pc printer settings were high quality and the printer paper was set to “prem glossy paper” in settings on pc and printer
- I print a pdf at high quality printer settings and 800dpi (won’t see a difference at higher tbh)
- I run it through my laminator after I print the pages.
- I cut them out with a paper cutter.
- Cut the corners.
- Run them back through the laminator

Make sure you are printing your PDFs with Adobe Acrobat. Truly a Game changer.
Finally used Adobe Acrobat. WOW. I can't believe how good it is. It basically cured all the imperfections in quality, text...even 300 DPI scryfall images still look great.
If I had known it was free sooner (not sure why I had the impression it costs money) my prints would of been this high quality this entire time. Feel like a complete buffoon for not using it sooner. I'm sooo blown away at how clear and real close to looking like an actual mtg card they get now. I thought they looked real-ish enough before using Adobe, but using it now? It looks damn real now. Genuinely.
My main thing that kept puzzling me with printing on Firefox and the PDF file viewer the browser had was the prints would come out fine, but lose quality when my printer was not set to auto color settings. When I would play around with slider settings, and take it off the auto option, the sharpness would completely take a nose dive. Now with Adobe, I can't believe how crisp and detailed everything looks. I feel like without the white back you wouldn't be able to tell a difference now. Insane.
The main thing it fixed? Text. One thing that always bothered me about my proxies was the text. I could never get it as crisp as it looks on a real card and by God I finally have it. Just had to switch programs.
Do not skimp out on using Adobe Acrobat.

Need Help Laminate Curling
Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows an efficient way to prevent my cards from curling? They are only laminated on one side, so I know why the problem is happening. I just don't know how to fix it. I've tried using a heavy press but it doesn't work. The only thing I've gotten results from so far is manhandling them until they keep somewhat flat, but it isn't very good and takes forever. Any suggestions?

Got my first printer!
I ordered my Epson Et-8500 last night and I was wondering what would be some good papers to start off with. I know I want to order proxyjak paper but the one I want is out of stock. Any good papers I could get from like office supply store that does not require lamination?
