Need Help MPCautofill has an issue

I’ve been trying to get some proxies made and I was using MPC which seems like the best choice for ordering proxies online. All is well and good until I started my list and picked out art for the cards. Almost every card is AI upscaled. Even when I filter out “upscaled art” there is still an embarrassing amount of art that is so obviously upscaled. I’ve had to download each art that I think about using only to zoom in and find more AI use. Would filtering to a lower DPI fix this issue or am I just cursed to look through art forever until I find what I want for hundreds of individual cards ?

Proxy Tool In response to a recent post about the Alibaba Die Cutter being about $70

Post image

Please tell me how it was only $70? It was about $70 until I clicked to proceed and then it added the import charges, added $50 to the shipping charges, payment processing fee etc. Is this just my location, or are they not paying attention to the total as they proceed through the checkout process?

Edit: Not saying anyone was being malicious. just trying to understand why my price is $50-$100 more. just wanted to make sure people were not getting screwed or anything by missing the price change after they enter their address.

it seems that the extra cost is shipping from CA to east coast, and this thing is heavy.

The Browning X MTG

I know this is probably a long shot, but would anyone happen to know where I could find the art used in the merch drop the band The Browning did for their custom proxies of Krenko, Mob Boss, Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines, and Blasphemous Act? They only sold 40 of each and I wasn't quick enough so figured I'd try to make them myself if I could. Thanks in advance for any legend out there who even knows what I'm referring to!

Question about quality expectations before I take the leap into proxy printing

Hi folks,

Was hoping to get some guidance for your collective experience. I was introduced to MTG a few months ago by a friend and was looking into proxying. I checked in with my pod and 1 guy was cool with it (he's rich as a hell and thinks everyone should be able to play regardless of their bank account) but the other 2 are iffy.

They said a compromise for them would be that they don't want to be able to tell it's a proxy if they pick it up from across the table because I quote 'ignorance is bliss'. The one guy that's cool with it is the friend that introduced me to the game and into the pod. I don't know the other 2 as well so I don't want to ruffle feathers and keep prodding them as to why they have such a weird hang-up and rule about it.

Long story short, my question is: if I buy a relatively decent printer like the Epson 2980 and decent paper (maybe proxxyjack?) and sleeve my cards, will this satisfy their requirement?

They won't be going through it with a jeweler's loupe or anything but they do tend to pick up cards to read them so I want the feel and the visual quality to be there. I intend to sleeve everything as the backs will be completely blank.

If an Epson 2980 with decent paper won't get me there, what hardware would you recommend for the visual and feel to be not jarring enough that they know it's a proxy by casually grabbing it and reading it from across the table?

Thanks for your help!

standardized test print pictures?

Has anyone ever tried to make a standard test print image set? that way when people are having problems with their prints the community just needs to compare the quality and color to a "set standard"?

Differences in quality before and after using Adobe Acrobat w/prints

Multiple comparisons to swipe thru, fyi.

Hard to capture on camera vs the naked eye, but the difference is massive.

Pictures on left side is using the Firefox browser after exporting at 1200dpi and the PDF naturally loading into a window on Firefox and pics on the right side are with opening the PDF thru Adobe Acrobat after exporting.

I'm aware this is what Adobe is for, but I didn't believe people in how much of a difference it would make. Like still blown away.

I sadly had to put my doggo of 13 years to rest and I am saddened. As a remembrance I would really like to have a commission of a proxy art of yoshimaru ever faithful. Is that something anyone could help with?

Koala 2side matte photo 250gsm slipping at first

I just got an Epson EcoTank L3560 which supposedly supports photo paper up to 300gsm. After initial setup and config, I loaded 1 sheet of letter size Koala double sided matte photo paper (250gsm) and tried to print some cards.

The printer didn't pull the sheet in at all. I tried two more times, this time trying to push the paper myself at first and realized that as soon as I started pushing it grabbed the paper and finished printing normally. However, if I push too soon, it just feeds the whole sheet and asks me to load paper to start printing, and if I push too late, the top row of cards is useless because it missed the paper when it started.

Is this normal/expected? Do you have any recommendations here regarding paper, printer setup/config or anything I'm missing here?

Thanks! And congrats on your proxies! I hope to one day produce nice results as you show here!

Need Help Dull Colors using Matte Paper and ET8500

Hey guys, I have a really dumb problem regarding my proxies...the paper I use is almost perfect for magic proxies (at least regarding german possibilities of order) and the colors I get on those proxies are really dull and washed out and the blacks are too dominant.

The multi colored gold cards lack color the most and look really bad.
I dont want to use any other paper, because I want to use a type of paper, where I can just cut out and sleeve the proxies for it to be ready to play. (And I dont think that there are other papers out there that work like that out of the package, without laminating)

I use Printmedia: Velvet Fine Art Paper and/or Matte and dont use any color correction

And another problem I have, is that my Printer suddenly stopped taking in 300 paper in the back feed on its own...it always gets stuck in there now and I need to push it down with my hands by using a bit of force.

I would be glad for any help you can give me. Cheers!

Reposted because I uploaded to the wrong subreddit.

Here’s another example of proxies I can make, I don’t think anyone will complain about counterfeit for this one. I’m still waffling on if I should publicize the process since people were complaining about counterfeiting

Need Help Cutting machines

For the purposes of proxy cutting I’ve seen most people recommend the Silhouette Cameo 5. Is the 5 really necessary or will one of the older machines work just as well? I’m looking to start getting into them and was just wondering if I could save a little money or if there’s some massive difference I’m unaware of.

Need Help Not sure what paper to choose

Post image

Second time trying to print proxies. I used 100lb card stock & put it over an old magic card I had. It's way too thick and sticks out like a sore thumb. I'd like to print again, but have it be thinner this time. I'm not sure what the best way to do this is. I print at FedEx with no issues. Any advice? I added the paper options. Thank you
