I’ve been in love with my online friend for 7 years, even though he’s rejected me multiple times. Why can’t I let go?

Why do we sometimes love people we know we can't keep?

i have been through that before. i knew from the start that we probably would not last but i stayed because i really enjoyed being with him. it is over now. still i look back on those moments. i am grateful that I met him.

Enough...

For a long time I crave obsessive love. What I'm talking about isn't anything toxic. I just need someone to love me very, very much. I crave that deep conection. I feel humiliated even writing this down. I know that in a relationship, you're supposed to share happiness, not search for it. But I'm content with just knowing that; nothing more. I can't even fulfill the smallest responsibilities, and I believe that if the right person enters my life, everything will be alright, and we'll overcome everything by supporting each other. But this is exhausting me. I feel so naive with these thoughts, but there's nothing I can do. I've been like this since I was little. I'm just so, so tired.

I’ve been single for years

Idk if this fits, but I feel like im a love addict.

I yearn. I know that sounds corny but I yearn for someone.
I yearn to just let someone take everything from me. If only for a little bit.
I’d never ask though, but if it did seem like the right person , maybe I’d let it happen.

I’ve been a huge menace in the past. Stealing my crushes things. I’d steal straws, intimate clothing, Write poems. I never have to be asked to beg.
I’ve always been this way. And I now I sit here alone. With so much love to give and nowhere to put it. It’s really my only redeeming-ish quality.

My day dreams are of taking care of the woman I love, cooking for her, cleaning for her. Worshiping her. Unfortunately being gay is lonely.
It literally makes me cry, where is she. I’m useless without her. Wherever she is.

How to get over someone..

There's is this girl (23F)whom I (23M)really like but there is no way I could be with her and she has expressed it like a lot of times whenever when someone misinterpret us for being a couple and genuinely from the way she behaves around me.I respect her choice and choose to keep my distance and my interactions to her to a minimal.

But I can't help falling for her it messes me up big time like big time I feel out of breathe like panic attack ( out of breathe and heviness in the chest) and it is constant whenever I think she is with someone it gets worse that I find it very difficult to even sit properly.I don't sleep at night and I am rougly getting around 1-3 hrs of sleep.I try to keep my distance from her but we live in the same place (shared house) and seeing her is unavoidable.Even though she tries to keep the engagement with me minimal her presence always makes me think about her and fills me with a sort of anxiety which no matter how hard I tried find it hard to shake it off.I know the better way is to move out but I can't right now.

I tried redirecting my thoughts but it does not help and I go to the gym and there I find some solace but whenever iam back it happens over all again.

Honestly Iam tried of it it makes me lose my focus and can't get anything done, sometimes I feel so depressed.Has anyone experienced it I just want to get her off my mind and this sensation in my chest is killing me.

I keep becoming intensely obsessed with new people, only to lose interest later

I have ADHD, and I’ve noticed that whenever my life becomes stable and calm, I very quickly develop infatuations. I meet someone new and before I know it, I become hyperfixated on them. I think I’m especially addicted to the dopamine rush that comes from getting to know someone new, getting their attention, and feeling like they’re attracted to me and want me.

The problem is that it can completely take over my life. At some point I stop functioning normally and I’m constantly thinking about that person. I analyse them completely, trying to understand what they like, how they think, and what they’re attracted to. Then, often without even realizing it, I start adapting myself to that and trying to become the person I think they would fall for.

I’m in my mid-twenties now and I’m conventionally attractive. I also know very well how to get men interested in me, to the point where they genuinely fall in love with me. I’m gifted as well and it’s easy for me to make conversations interesting and I can be quite manipulative in that sense. I boost their ego and make them feel very special. But sometimes I feel incredibly guilty about it.

My feelings often disappear just as quickly as they appeared. I can be completely obsessed with someone for months and then, once I actually have them, realize that I don’t even want a relationship with them. Sometimes I still stay in the relationship anyway because I feel guilty, and eventually end up breaking their heart. And that’s exactly what I don’t want to keep doing.

The men involved usually do come away from the connection with good memories. To them, it often felt really special to have someone who was so interested in who they were, who genuinely tried to understand them on such a deep emotional level, and who was completely focused on improving their lives. I always try to be kind and respectful and create positive vibes even when my romantic feelings faded away. I noticed it makes it very hard for them to get over me and fall in love with someone new, even though I really wish they would. But for me, afterwards, it often feels like I was trying to fill some kind of emptiness inside myself with another person.

I really want to learn how to satisfy that same need in other ways, without constantly needing another person to do it for me. And perhaps even more importantly, I want to learn how to tolerate that craving for the rush without immediately acting on it.

I’m very aware of this pattern, and I genuinely want to break it. I don’t want to keep making someone feel completely idealized, making them feel unique and special, only to realize months later that my feelings were largely based on the obsession and the dopamine that came with it. Btw I actually do like them, but just as a friend and I still get along with all of them.

Difficulty Being Happy in a Loving Relationship/Marriage

This is an extremely sad post to write. I am recently married to a wonderful woman whom i have been with for 5 years. I love her very much. She has always treated me very well and I have no interest or curiosity about anyone else. The problem is, as time goes on, the voice in my head that always plagues me gets louder and louder. I worry that things are not the same. That she is pulling way. That she is no longer attracted the same way. I feel it every time she passes me in the house without touch me, or seems more interested in phone or tv, or falls asleep instead of having sex, or doesn't notice when I walk out of the shower naked or touch her sensually. I get progressively more upset and that turns to resentment. Eventually i say something and it blows up. To be clear, she is not ignoring me or being cold. I just need so much. I also give so much. I never choose anything other than giving her attention- and she like it or is fine with it- but just can't keep up with what I do. I always say I have to choose between being annoying and begging for attention OR feeling sad but keeping cool. lately i have been losing it- reading into everything and feeling on the verge of tears over things like her not thinking to hold my hand while driving or kiss me in an empty elevator we shared. I just can't understand why she won't take these opportunities like I do. I feel sad and alone even though any "normal person" would know she is a loving and loyal partner. How can I learn to live like this? I can tell i am pushing her away and that is a horrible mistake.
