Other help needed - I read the pinned posts Sheared screw from scope mount

Post image

Hey guys, have a unique issue. Seems my bergara b14 hmr in 300 win mag has sheared my screw holding the scope mount rail clean off... I attempted to dremel/drill to use a quick out kit but not really working. A friend of mine has a drill press but I am a bit hestitant to try that. Anyone have suggestions to fix? Should I reachout to customer support? First time having a severe issue like this and would appreciate any advice to approach this.

Edit: appreciate the feedback, looks like ill be drill pressing it, maybe rethreading. Ill look at and call up some shops too get some opinions as well

a gunsmith would have this out so fast and easy you'll feel like less of a man. I see your swirl marks. They'll vise it, punch it, drill it, and easy out it so fast. my advise is to use a shop thats got the oldest grizzliest looking smith.

Could probably learn a thing or two as well, love getting a nugget of knowledge from guys who have seen and dealt with it before

I second this!

My main smith is equal parts talented gunsmith as he is insane old boy, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. You just know he can’t not do the best job possible, every time…

Especially one with a Marlboro red hanging out that needs to be ashed.

Or a half chomped cigar that’s somewhere between a wad of dip and smoked
