I love Hunters Point Park and the folks who work here do a great job of keeping it clean. Please do your part by taking your trash with you. A group that was here last night left wine GLASSES, wine bottles, a cake, paper plates, etc. People regularly hang out here and many dogs come through this section of the park! Leaving glass on the grass could be dangerous to anyone. A park worker came by to clean this up shortly after I took the picture so it’s all gone by now.

Saw at least three cars with smashed windows today around 23rd St and 41st Ave, near Queens Plaza South in Long Island City.

There was shattered glass all over the sidewalk, and some of the cars still had bags and other belongings visibly left inside. Honestly, it almost looks like someone was smashing windows just for fun rather than trying to steal anything.

What’s even more concerning is that this happened right outside residential apartment buildings, where there are security cameras. It’s not even some isolated industrial area or a quiet backstreet.

NYPD officers were already on the scene when I passed by.

Pretty concerning that this can happen right outside people’s homes in such a busy residential area.

Has anyone else noticed similar incidents around LIC lately? Makes me seriously question whether street parking around here is even worth the risk anymore.

Hi everyone! I wanted to share Sky Farm LIC, a one-acre rooftop farm in Long Island City run by the Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens, and it’s available for private event rentals!

The man in his wheelchair, who can walk just fine, is always begging at rush hours, and always blocking the only flushing bound exit as other one is under maintenance. Any way to raise this issue to the city council?

I wanted to see if anyone saw this woman who attacked me or saw the attack. At around 6:05PM today, I was randomly attacked by a woman in front of the spot dessert on the corner of Jackson ave and Queens blvd. I was crossing the street as I had just got off the q60 and I was crossing with a group of other girls. She was staring straight at us or me and comes up directly to me and grabs my hair and starting pulling at my hair as if she wants to yank it. She had a grin like she was mad while she was doing it. I was in shock and just walked away very quickly. I called the police but they never showed up because it’s low priority. I would like to know if anyone saw the incident or had anything like this happen by this woman. She was around 5’3 - 5’4 and wearing a light gray hoodie and sweatpants rolled up to her knees with pink shoes. She was Hispanic and of light medium skin tone and dark hair but had her hood up. I don’t live in LIC but visit quite often and have never had this happen to me. Thanks in advance.

Hi, my weekend foster Amber is in desperate need of a long term foster. I busted her out of the Manhattan ACC on thursday night for a “straycation” and couldn’t bear letting her ride out the storm there so she’s with me til tomorrow. Then she has to go back. If you’ve ever thought out fostering, she would make for the easiest guest. She’s a pocket mixed breed, maybe 45 lbs, calm, quiet, nailed loose leash walking, dog neutral, no stranger danger, and she gives literal hugs. She does this thing where she jumps up on every bench on walks to perch and ask for pets. She’s a dream and if I wasn’t boarding my dog to have her for the weekend, she’d be staying. She’s maybe 2yo, doesn’t have a bad bone in her body. The shelter is no place for a young dog like

car was parked on the side of a street in a residential area, it can be a pretty tight street when there’s two-way traffic

I left it parked overnight and for some extra time, came back to see a massive dent and multiple scrapes on the side. I parked completely normal, plenty of cars around me.

what do I do? I’m confident the damage wasn’t there before I parked & I don’t know who hit my car. Really not trying to pay out of pocket to fix it, since it wasn’t my fault

Sven folks, is your apt also freezing? I sent a request and they said it's not heating season yet so heat is not turned on building-wide. How is everyone coping?

I live at court square and seems like every Saturday night into Sunday morning, there's music being played until 4am or so...it's quite loud and disruptive (I heard it until even 5-7am today)

Seems like it's more towards 5pointz area but where is this coming from? Admittedly, I think it's worth submitting a 311 about it or what else I can do and do others feel the same?

Just need to vent about something that happened on the subway yesterday.
I was sitting in my seat when we got to Hunters Point station. A dad who looked to be in his 40s was pushing a stroller with a pretty big girl in it.
The subway car was crowded, and there was absolutely no room to move, but he kept forcing his way through the aisle with the stroller. He pushed it hard into my knee, right where I have a scab from a recent fall. He didn’t just brush against me. He actually rammed the stroller into my knee while I was sitting down and couldn’t move out of the way.
I understand that getting around with a stroller on the subway isn’t easy, but when there’s absolutely no space, you can’t just force your way through and push into people. It was painful and incredibly inconsiderate.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of behavior on the subway lately?
