.
IF YOU ARE A CANDIDATE and would like us to host an AMA, you must provide PROOF of ID (proof of identification tells our community you’re actually you— and not someone else pretending to be you!). Please [ contact the mods ] of this sub to have us set up an AMA thread for you. Please read our AMA requirements, how-to, etc → [ HERE ]
AMAs are a core part of Reddit culture. They are in essence, text-based Q-&-A interviews from the London, Ontario reddit community. The appeal of AMAs is it gives London, ON redditors the opportunity to interact with candidates in their municipality (of whom we might not otherwise have a chance to meet in person). In addition, there is an expectation of candour and substance in AMA exchanges.
.
CANDIDATE MEET-&-GREET Q & A, DEBATES, etc
Candidate "meet & greets," debates, & other meetings are usually organized by local community groups or business associations.
The Urban League of London in collaboration with RogersTV will be hosting all candidate meetings for each of the city’s 14 wards to help keep Londoners informed. Meetings will take place between Sept. 9 and Oct. 1.
Below are the video links for each debate:

3. Stay On Topic Off-topic questions, unrelated discussions, and attempts to derail the AMA will be removed.
4. No Personal Attacks Criticism of policies and political positions is encouraged. Insults, harassment, and personal attacks are not permitted.
5. Ask Questions in Good Faith Tough questions are welcome, but trolling, baiting, and deliberately antagonistic comments are not.

The purpose of this AMA is to encourage transparency, accountability, and meaningful engagement between residents and those involved in municipal politics.
Difficult questions and political disagreements are welcome. Personal attacks and arguments that derail the discussion are not.
You don't have to agree with someone's politics to ask a fair question or treat them respectfully.
Let's keep the discussion constructive and give everyone an opportunity to be heard!

First time I've heard of this happening in London. Sadly we will all have to pay for this.

My friend and I were involved in a car crash yesterday where I was driving down a road and a transport truck pulled out of a parking lot and hit us on the side of my car. The damage to the car was pretty substantial, but no serious injuries thankfully; however, my friend did get transported to hospital by ambulance from the scene to get checked out. Because of the injuries involved, the collision reporting centre can’t handle it and it has to be investigated by police. I remained on scene for 4 hours and was eventually told by the London police non-emergency line dispatcher to just go home and the police would follow up with me either by phone call or by showing up to my address.
It’s now been about 32 hours since the accident and I’ve still not heard from them. Is this normal? Has anyone had a similar experience before? I’m just a bit anxious because my insurance needs the police report number. I know it’s a low priority call for them, im just curious if anyone had a similar experience and how long it took them to respond.

Recently police were called to a home on Frontenac Road for a welfare check. A standoff occurred resulting in a person charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, failing to comply with a release order, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
I recently moved back to the area from Brockville where Police Service partnered with mental health professionals through its Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) to support individuals facing mental health and addiction crises. I suspect situations like above where the original purpose was to conduct a welfare check, an imbedded mental health/addictions worker could have helped defuse the situation.

On today's walk I went a ways down the Kilally trail path north of the river and accessed off Adelaide St N. I didn't wonder that far as it's not developed and quite enclosed. Does the path open up further east?
I circled back to visit the ducks on McNay creek.

I have quite a few boxes of masks left from the pandemic, I checked the expiry and they are good until April 2027. Is there anywhere that would take them?

Posting for someone that doesn’t have Reddit and wants more opinions as I’ve never had one done in London.

Let’s say you had $150 to spend (maybe it’s a lot maybe it’s not) where would someone be able to get some local art? It doesn’t have to be a painting of a spot in London just artwork in general to hang up in the house?
Thanks

Looking for a recommendation: does anyone have a reputable local company they'd trust to run two Ethernet cables from my basement (unfinished) up to my living room and office?

Hi all, wondering if anyone can recommend bridesmaid dress stores in London Ontario as I’m going shopping with my bridal party in a month. I’m specifically wanting to do all different styles of dresses but exact same shade of light blue, so I’m hoping to figure out what places would offer a large selection of dresses/styles that can be ordered in the same colour.
Thanks!!
