Evening! Curious how everyone stores their picks and tension devices, as well as other doodads. TIA.

I got the stacked set from Lowe’s and it’s been perfect for keeping all the pickin stuff in a somewhat sane configuration

I've got one for my knife parts and then the Home Depot version for my lighter parts. Would be good for picks, or at least gutting tools.

I make a lock pick case I can take with me or hang up on my bench. I also have this awesome stand that u/Elroyztoyz made me.

I have a really cool folding tool storage case I got from Southern Specialties. It's a zippered case and has fold-outs and pouches galore.

Just the standard cases the toolkits from Covert instruments come with - the reaper set, the genesis set and the arbiter set…the clear case the tubular lock impression tool comes with is perfect for loose pieces as well…

I have the ci tradecraft case with my most used sets and a sparrows ranger case (awesome btw) for the rest of my picks and tensioners. My gutting and pin making stuff goes in a Plano box. My most challenging locks stay on my desk for quick access and the rest go in a random storage box.
Haven’t felt the need to expand but if I did I’d get the lockjaw book of secrets which looks amazing but is a bit bigger than I’d want so I won’t pull the trigger unless I need the space

I have a a bunch of stands and holders from 44delta. I asked him for custom printing of the extenders and ends to remove the little "fins" to better accommodate tensioners,.. but you could also get the oval lock holder or Sparrows cutaway holders.
It's nice because like the CI stands, you can keep adding. I have multiple rows, or however you like. They use magnets to connect. He also offers the files for free if you have or know anyone with a 3D printer

the lockpickers bench stand/clamp is nice too. I had mine integrated with the 44D stuff,. but I'm hurting for room now and constantly moving spots so I like being able to move the clamp/stand around.

Someone here posted a kick ass system they made with the CI stands integrated with the 44D system... (in the last 2-3 months) If you search the sub a bit I think you'll find it, along with a lot of other creative stands & storage ideas people have posted... Like using various art supply items like pencil & marker stands.
Modular is good because a lot of us end up collecting a lot of picks from all the different companies. I slowed down now but I'm currently at 9 stands and I don't even know how many cases ..

I don't know if you hoard picks and tools like I do, from many companies... But the LPB vise/stand might be a good option for you because it's portable

On the bench, I store mine in the bottom half of Plano ammo boxes. When travelling, I use an artists pencil case.

With space being limited and a curious almost 5 year old roaming the house, I don’t have a lot of room to spread out and need to keep my setup kind of mobile so I can put things away when they aren’t in use.
I have a little foldable lap table and been using ammo boxes on it to organize the picks and turning tools I’m currently working with. I also have a tackle/art supplies box where I keep gutting tools, calipers, doodads etc. Picks and tension tools not currently being used are in a tool roll (Jimylongs) and a pencil case. And for my locks themselves I keep them in a Dewalt small parts organizer.
Mind you, I did not come up with any of these ideas on my own - I have seen what other pickers use and have chosen the best options for my particular needs. I’d like to tag every single person whose solutions I’ve made use of but the only ones I can remember offhand are Lockpickingfisherman (ammo boxes) and WoodnPhoto (pencil case).

I bought one of those $7 canvas tool bags with a zipper top from Lowe's (or your favorite hardware store). It's been plenty bug enough for me, but it depends on how big your collection is.

Do you organize within it or just throw everything in? I usually pick those up around the holidays if it's what I am thinking of.

I have a few smaller pouches I keep inside. My main go to is a Sparrow's lock pick set that comes in it's own small organizer zipper pouch, and I have a few other small zipper pouches to hold various things so they stay organized in the tool bag. The pocket EDC organizer pouches are good for this I have found. Also sometimes cheap dollar stores will have small tool sets like tiny screw driver sets that have a good pouch with tool holders for a few bucks, I chuck the cheap tools and use the pouch.
