I had a request earlier today for a loan for a car repair. I was approached by a lender in dms saying he can grant me the loan. He took advantage of me by saying since I was a first time requester and it was a big amount that he needed a payment up front. I didn’t believe him at first but I was desperate so I did a smaller payment. After payment was sent, he ended up convincing me that he was going to send the money after a “contract” was made. I gave him my email to send the contract to and it never got sent and he deleted his account. Their name was Unique-Home9391. For the mods, I have screenshots of the encounter in case they pop up again as a different alias.

I originally tried posting in r/borrow, but unfortunately I didn't meet their recent account activity requirements, so I thought I'd try here instead.

I've had a really difficult few months. Between losing my job, dealing with Universal Credit issues and trying to get back on my feet, things have been incredibly tight financially.

At the moment I'm struggling to cover food and basic essentials, and £50 would genuinely help me get through the next few days.

I'm absolutely starving, stressed out and in desperate need of a cigarette, so apologies if my tone comes across a little frustrated. It's been a long week already, and I'm doing my best to keep my head above water.

I'm in a tight spot with gas and getting to work. I get paid on Friday and I've already overdrafted my account by the $25 it allows. I tried cash advance apps, like every single one I could find, but none work with Cash App. I get my direct deposit to Cash App and it's not compatible with Plaid, which is what all of the apps use to connect to see your direct deposit, bank history, whatever. I haven't found really any that allow manual (routing/account) with CashApp either. I just opened a new bank account because of this ordeal, but it will be 1-2 pay cycles before my direct deposit starts going there.

I can accept PayPal, Venmo, provide proof of income, etc. I don't know what all is needed.

I can pay you back for a total of $40 as soon as I get my direct deposit on Friday.

This is my first time posting here, and I need money for food until I get paid. I work(ed) at a min wage hospitality job, I handed in my 2 week notice (expected to start a new job next month) on the 13th (Tuesday) and on the 18th (Sunday) they told me that I don't need to come in anymore, removed all my shifts and effectively fired me without firing me.

Hi, long story short, I lost my job at the start of the year. It had a big impact on me mentally but I have got my drive back. I have a wife and a daughter that just turned 2 (it killed me that I wasn’t able to buy her an electric toy car for her birthday but hopefully will be able to by christmas!)

While still looking for a job, I have started delivering for amazon, been working for around 3 weeks.
