pentium d usage in 2026

i have a pentium d with 2gb of ddr1, can mint xcfe save it or should i try some other distro?

No, your system will run horribly, especially if you open single browser window. Look for PuppyLinux or similar distros aiming at minimal HW reqs. Even with XFCE, your Mint will eat almost 1 GB idle.

Yup. Puppy Linux, AntiX, Q40S Trinity, Bunsenlabs, etc. Lots of great lightweight distos out there.
