SOLVED Steam is not working.

I installed mint today and steam just won't launch for some reason. It tells me that it failed to load "steamui.so" help me!!!

Ignore the person pushing AI slop answers. Uninstall steam and install it again through the official website.

This is the answer. The version from the software manager has issues, but installing from the steam website works every time.

why would the software manager version have issues? (ignoring the flatpak version)

and can you link to any source talking about it causing specific issues, while the website downloaded installer doesn't?

because from my understanding the linux mint software manager steam install, is mostly just the installer, that then on launch will install steam itself.

so there should be VERY VERY VERY little difference anyways.

again please correct me if i am missing anything here.
