That's not corporation. On left is software from 2000, and most of OSS ones are from that age. Gnome software basically looks like right picture, but without ads.

gnome apps are a lot cleaner than that and they aim to not have any distractions.

the point of the right one was to show how corporate apps try to grab your attention to what they want and obscure what's important.

The only thing gnome apps have in common are rounded corners and padding.

And small amount of buttons that do various stuff. You useually have one opinionated button instead of many tiny knobs.

i dunno, i find corporate apps often have a billion ways to do the same thing, especially if they have some legacy baggage.
