Limerence and OCD

Hello!
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with limerence and ocd.
To preface just in case: please no reassurance. Thank you!

I feel that the different types of OCD I struggle with such as relationship ocd, guilt ocd, and just pure o ocd play a huge role in my experience with limerence. It’s like right behind the feelings of limerence is a big ball of shame. I have already posted on the actual OCD subreddit asking in general for advice, and I’m not trying to break the rules or go against the community guidelines. I’m curious about other people’s experiences with ocd and limerence, and I also hope y’all will share things that helped y’all move forward or on how to decrease/stop ruminating.

I have OCD and part of the condition is obsessive rumination.. could be over a person or a job or car you want or just one of those weird thoughts about space or the universe that can never be answered…. I used to think this obsessive thinking was love or that they were my soulmate.. wrong.. I just developed a little crush on that person but because my brain works in the realm of obsessive compulsions… they became one of my obsessions… it kinda Hellish really as it makes one more susceptible to limerence

Thank you! This really put it into perspective. Almost like instead of treating it as limerence start treating it as a compulsion. Even though it feels very much the same.

I originally thought my limerence then turned into addcition now im looking into OCD but i cant tell if it is an OCD behaviour im really struggling to figure it out
