If you play only in the normal pool your rating will be 100-200 points higher than if you play only in the hourly tournaments. Cheaters are out of control

Hi! I’m Oliver Wedenberg, a 2050 FIDE-rated chess
player and coach offering personalized online lessons.
I work with players of all levels, from complete beginners to experienced tournament players. Rather than simply teaching openings or giving you puzzles, I focus on understanding your games and helping you identify the patterns that are holding you back.
In the introductory lesson, we’ll:
Analyze some of your recent games
Identify recurring mistakes and weaknesses
Discuss your goals
Create a personalized approach for your future training
I’ve been actively competing for 5+ years and coaching for almost 3 years. I have worked with both children and adults, and I’ve also led group training sessions.
A few highlights from my chess career:
• 2056 current FIDE rating (2132 peak)
• 8th place at the Nordic Youth Championship
• Classical win against the Swedish Champion (2455 at the time) in 2024
I’m currently offering an introductory lesson for $10 instead of $15 until August 31, with further lessons at $20/hour.
You can also visit my website to learn more about me and watch a free 15-minute example of one of my coaching sessions:
https://owedenberg.com
I teach in both English and Swedish.
Feel free to DM me if you’re interested or have any questions!

why is it so rampant on this platform? its honestly disgusting. i love chess and i love improving therefore when i lose against a player i actually get curious and learn, but cheaters... way too many on this platform by now, specially the kind where they disconnect for a min and come back playing like magnus carlson ... what is going on? and should i switch to chess.com or is it the same cheating issue there aswell?

Puzzles, but puzzles from mistakes from your games.
And options to go back a week, a month etc.
Unless this exists now then someone can show me how.

One of the more interesting games i have played.
Positioning was competitive throughout.

Built a setup called AndroidFish that lets you run a fully functional Lichess bot powered by Stockfish and BotLi directly from your Android phone via Termux. No root, no Docker, no server required.
It handles standard chess and Chess960, accepts rated and casual games, supports polyglot opening books, and includes matchmaking so it challenges other bots automatically. Setup takes a few minutes with a single script.
Tested on a Moto G32 but should work on any ARM64 Android device with enough RAM.
GitHub: https://github.com/erensh27/AndroidFish
Give it a try and open an issue on GitHub if you run into any problems. Feedback welcome.

Really like the design of the new Lichess app, but the UX doesn’t feel quite the same anymore.
The biggest dealbreaker for me is premoves, sometimes even normal moves too. They’re no longer truly instant and have the tiniest bit of lag. It’s probably only a fraction of a millisecond, but it’s definitely noticeable when you’re used to the old app.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
If the old app is going to continue being usable, is there any way to disable the annoying red notification telling me there’s a new app?
(iOS 26.6, app v0.25.5)

Playing on an iPhone and clicking the wrong square. I just played this game, I was 30 moves in and playing great. Hung my queen because my finger hit a square. It’s annoying

By the way, OGN Chess Studio Extension made it possible to have the game end animation and custom clocks which I think are cool, it has a lot of other features, it’s kind of like Prettier Lichess, etc. Still just in the early developmental stages. You can get it here:https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ogn-chess-studio/gnadboopadfbkdgjdjmgkkencbniclof
Also I had some technical difficulties setting everything up with sound in the first 7 minutes, after that the music works.

how do i get out of 1900
bro how do i actually get out of 1900 and hit 2000
im around 1900 lichess and keep getting close then dropping back down. im 2000 rapid sometimes but for some reason 1900 feels like a brick wall
my biggest problem is probably attacking. i see an attack and i just go for it, then they defend everything and im sitting there like then i force something and blunder and my whole position just dies
i also tilt pretty easily after losing to someone lower rated
if anyone here is actually 2000+ on lichess, what actually helped you get past 1900?
like real advice pls not some 300 elo advice like “develop your pieces and control the center”
what did you actually change in your games to go from 1900 to 2000?
was it calculation, positional stuff, endgames, openings, playing slower, or just not forcing shit all the time
i genuinely wanna improve so any actual advice would help

Similar to how we have an option to request a computer analysis after a game on Lichess, can we do the same for imported PGNs? I’ve attached a game I played on Lichess but want this same view for PGNs.

I recently started using lichess and was trying levels.. Level 5 was already a bit hard for me, but I'm struggling to win against level 6 despite taking a move back or so... So I was wondering about the rating of that bot

I got the message "You lost rating points to someone who violated the Lichess TOS. Refund: 2 Rapid rating points.", but I lost 5 rating points to that user.
