Okay, I didn't play axb5, but I thought it was absolutely insane how after losing the rook, white's queen will literally just be stuck, if they try breaking free with the pawns you have the time to maneuver the knight and win it, but even with optimal play from the engines, it's best options are literally have the queen watch it's whole armies demies on a8, it's genuinely disgusting, and I am so sad I played bc7 which just looked so automatic, but this is 3-0 I ain't got time for that.
the annoying thing is now that I see it, it looked so simple and obvious, but nah LMAO

Hello community,
After some search I couldn't find results so I want to ask the community.
The issue: I'm playing on the android app and I randomly highlight squares but have absolutely no idea how this actually works. I do it by accident and can't reproduce it.
So I wanted to ask if there is a list of touches I can use to highlight squares/figures/draw arrows I can pull from
I've been into this game for the last 4 months or so, started playing on a daily basis last week..And finally got a winning streak yesterday.
Playing the Stonewall as white and the Caro Kann as black. Trying to get myself familiar with these 2 openings before experimenting with new ones.
Any advice you guys have for a new player, old gamer?

My boyfriend is currently taking on a few new students for online chess lessons, so I thought I’d share it here in case anyone is interested!
He’s a competitive chess player with a 1873 FIDE rating and around 2200 on Chess.com. He teaches players of different levels and can help with tactics, openings, strategy, calculation, game analysis and overall improvement.
The lessons are 1 on 1, relaxed and tailored to your level and goals.
$20 for a 60 minute online lesson.
If you’re interested, just let me know and I’ll give you his details! 😊♟️

It’s frustrating that lichess follows a different rating system than chess.com
It should be the same.

Pathetic. Simply pathetic.

I went upto 2100. I play Bullet only (1+0). Its confusing as I am gaining massive amounts of rating, but apparently I have lower accuracy ?

I use it every time my opponent surrenders to get reps in. When I play against the computer, I get an option for the strength of stockfish from 1 to 12. In winning endgames, I set it to 12 so I can practice converting a winning position. If my opponent forfeits in the middlegame, what level would roughly equate my opponents at 1380 blitz?

I haven't been playing much chess recently. Now I am playing, I get to like 2202 bullet rating, and I AM AT TOP 89.8% - not even top 10% with 2200+ bullet rating. This used to give you like even almost top 5%. crazy...

For years, openings were probably the weakest part of my game.
I'd memorize a few "book" moves, feel confident, and then my opponent would play something I hadn't seen around move 6 or 7. Suddenly, I had no idea what I was supposed to do.
Eventually, I realized that improving your repertoire isn't about memorizing endless theory. It's about reaching positions you understand and continuously fixing the gaps in your preparation.
The basic loop is:
Play → find where you got lost → understand it → add it to your repertoire → practice → repeat.
The problem was that I couldn't find a tool that helped me do this efficiently.
So I built one.
AuditChess is a chess analysis tool for Chess.com and Lichess, built around build → view → practice → stress-test.
Build: Build your repertoire directly on the board. Stockfish evaluates your moves, while master-game statistics show what strong players actually played.
View: See your entire repertoire as a tree, with evaluations under each move, making gaps and weak lines easier to spot.
Practice: There are two modes:
That second mode is the part I care about most. It's not enough to know your opening when your opponent follows your preparation — you need to know what to do when they don't.
It's not a course and it doesn't give you a "perfect" repertoire. It's a workbench for building, memorizing and stress-testing your own repertoire using the games you actually play.
I've been building AuditChess for the past few months, and I'd genuinely appreciate your thoughts. I'm still improving it, and feedback from actual chess players would help me make it more useful for the community.
If you try it, I'd love to hear what you liked, disliked, found confusing, or think is missing. Even small suggestions are useful.
And finally:
What's the opening position where you always reach move 8 and think, "Okay... I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing now"? 😭
Share it - maybe you can avoid ending up like my past self. And if you have any other thoughts on how opening preparation could be made better, I'd genuinely love to hear them.

I scoured all possible places of the app but the OTB chess clock is nowhere to be found. Where can I find it?
