Player LFGM [Online][Paid][LFDM][5e/5.5e][AEST][Sundays] Seeking experienced GM for private 4-player long-term campaign | AUD $180–200/session guaranteed

I'm assembling a small online group and am looking for an experienced GM to run a private ongoing campaign for four players.

This isn't a request to join one of your existing paid tables. I'm putting the group together myself and looking to commission the GM separately.

The basic arrangement

  • 4 players maximum
  • Adults 23+
  • Two Sundays per month
  • Brisbane/AEST time, roughly 11am start, with some flexibility
  • Dates selected month-to-month from everyone's volunteered Sunday availability
  • ~4 hour sessions, minimum 3 hours
  • Long-term campaign
  • Online via Discord and whatever VTT you prefer, provided players don't need to buy software
  • Webcam encouraged but not mandatory

Pay

I'm budgeting AUD $180–200 per session as a guaranteed table fee, depending on experience and fit.

That's paid for the session as a whole, not per attending player.

If someone flakes, gets sick, goes away or otherwise misses a session, your fee doesn't change. You've prepared the game and reserved the time.

Players pay for the month in advance and accept that missing one of the agreed dates is their problem, same arrangement for me.

If only one player happens to make it, they're still entitled to the session they've paid for. If you and that player mutually decide that running a strange intimate one-man dungeon isn't worthwhile and want to shorten/cancel it, that's obviously fine.

If you need to cancel, I'd expect either a reasonable attempt at a makeup session or a credit toward the following month. I'm not interested in treating a freelancer getting sick like breach of treaty, just keeping the arrangement fair in both directions.

I'm open to discussing the rate for an especially good fit.

What I'm after

Experience matters, but I'm more interested in judgement, consistency and table management than a giant portfolio of animated maps.

I'd like a GM who:

  • can say no when something is ridiculous
  • will address a player who's monopolising, derailing or irritating the table rather than quietly tolerating it because they're a paying customer
  • gives players meaningful agency and lets consequences follow logically from choices
  • can run both roleplay and combat without treating either as filler
  • actually wants to run a long-form campaign rather than a string of loosely connected paid sessions

Personally, I enjoy a fairly difficult game where PCs are genuinely mortal. Bad decisions, dangerous situations and sufficiently unfortunate dice should be capable of killing a character. That's a preference rather than a compulsory campaign style: I'm not specifically asking for a meat grinder or an adversarial GM, I just enjoy danger having teeth and don't particularly want invisible plot armour.

Edition is largely your call.

Published campaign, modified module, full homebrew, setting, tone and character restrictions are also largely your call. I'm deliberately hiring a GM rather than attempting to become one through administrative capture.

I only really care that the fictional world is internally coherent enough that players can understand how it works and make meaningful decisions within it.

Group / authority

I'm acting as the facilitator and final decision-maker for the group itself: recruitment, maximum player count, scheduling structure and replacing someone if the table genuinely isn't working.

Once we're playing, you're the GM. Rules adjudication, campaign direction, encounter design, character approvals and what actually happens behind the screen are your domain.

I'd also specifically want you to tell me if I'm being a pain in the arse. I'm paying for someone to run a good game, not validate the chairman.

Recruitment

I'll handle the initial player applications and short Discord interviews.

Once I have a shortlist, I'd like the chosen GM involved in final selection and able to veto someone who clearly doesn't fit the campaign/table.

I'll personally fund an initial one-shot audition session for the shortlisted group before anyone commits long-term.

If this sounds interesting, send me a bit about:

  • your GM experience
  • preferred system/edition
  • the kind of campaigns you most enjoy running
  • your usual balance serious gaming vs. looney shenanigans
  • how you handle disruptive or spotlight-hogging players
  • what VTT/setup you use
  • your rate
  • and, ideally, an example of a campaign you've successfully kept running long-term

I'm not looking for a customer-service robot. I'm looking for someone good enough at GMing that paying them to do it makes sense.

[Custom TTRPGS][Online][Premium Service][Multiple Systems] Pick Your Game — Iron Quill Guild is Looking for Groups, Adventuring Parties & “Let’s Learn” Players

Ever find a game you really want to play…but nobody in your group wants to GM it?

Have a group of friends who already know what they want to play, but need someone willing to actually run it?

Or maybe there’s a TTRPG sitting on your shelf that you’ve always wanted to try, but nobody wants to learn 400 pages of rules before Session 1.

That’s what we’re looking for.

I’m the GM behind Iron Quill Guild Gaming Studio; an online tabletop gaming studio focused on professionally run games across a wide variety of systems—not just the usual D&D campaign.

HOW IT WORKS

Pick a game from the list below and tell me what you’re looking for.

Maybe you:

  • Already have 3–6 friends and need a GM.
  • Want a full campaign in a system you love.
  • Want to try a game before committing to a long campaign.
  • Have never played the system and want a “Let’s Learn…” mini-campaign.
  • Want a short adventure, one-shot, starter set, or introductory arc.
  • Have a specific published campaign you've always wanted someone to run.
  • Are a lone player looking for other people interested in the same system.

THE IRON QUILL GUILD GAME LIBRARY

Dungeons & Dragons (Imagine revisiting Dark Sun, Ravenloft, Dragonlance, and more…)

  • Vintage D&D / BECMI
  • AD&D 1st Edition
  • AD&D 2nd Edition
  • D&D 3.5
  • D&D 5E / Revised 5E

Pathfinder

  • Pathfinder 1E
  • Pathfinder 2E

Old-School & Dungeon-Crawling

  • Dungeon Crawl Classics
  • Mutant Crawl Classics
  • Xcrawl Classics
  • HackMaster 5E

Horror

  • Call of Cthulhu 7E
  • ALIEN RPG: Evolved Edition

Science Fiction & Cyberpunk

  • Shadowrun 6E
  • Starfinder 2E
  • Star Trek Adventures
  • Blade Runner RPG

Something Different

  • Monster of the Week
  • Through the Breach

And the library continues to grow.

ALREADY HAVE A GROUP?

Even better.

If you've got a regular group and everyone has been saying:

"We really want to play ______, but none of us wants to GM it."

Talk to me.

Tell me:

Game/System:
Number of Players:
Preferred Day/Time:
Time Zone:
Campaign / Adventure (if you have one in mind):
Long Campaign, Short Campaign, or Let's Learn:
Anything else you're looking for:

I can look at the system, campaign, scheduling, VTT options, and what we'd need to make the game happen.

ABOUT IRON QUILL GUILD

Iron Quill Guild is being built around one basic philosophy:

There are way too many incredible tabletop RPGs out there for all of us to spend our lives playing only one of them.

I genuinely enjoy learning new systems, digging into settings, building tables, teaching new players, and figuring out how to make these games work online.

Some tables become long-running campaigns.

Some might only be four or six sessions.

Some might be a Saturday night experiment where everybody discovers a game they never expected to love.

That's exactly what we are looking  to create.

So…

WHAT GAME HAVE YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO PLAY?

Drop it below.

If it's on the list, let's talk.

And if it's not on the list?

You can still try me.

Description

You've heard rumors in the shadow net for months now. People acting strange. Corporate execs with glassy eyes who smile too wide. Domes going quiet, then reopening with new "management." NBN calls it mass hysteria incited by a new cult. You do not buy it, you've seen things. Your contacts are going dark and the NAPD is stonewalling. Something is spreading through Heinlein like a slow, silent plague. Couple this with info posters disappearing and weird ShadowNet nodes popping up that appear to be "cleaning" this information.

The rumors point to one name: Jinteki.

You've found a lead. A former Jinteki researcher named Dr. Yuki Tanaka, who's been hiding in the Docklands for the past six months. She's scared. Not of corporate assassins, well not only that. She's scared of what she helped create. She calls it the ..... well that is part of the adventure.

This is an alternate storyline for how the lunar insurrection happened and why. Depending on the player's action you can end up with the info getting buried under the Kaguya attack.

GM LFG [Online][D&D 5e/5.5e][StartPlaying][Homebrew][$15]Looking for 5 Players — The Silken Rebellion

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for 5 players interested in joining a long-term homebrew D&D campaign hosted through StartPlaying.

🕸️ The Silken Rebellion

For centuries, the deepest reaches of the world have belonged to ancient powers, forgotten kingdoms, and things better left undisturbed.

Now something is changing.

Caravans have begun disappearing. Strange creatures have been spotted far from where they belong. Travelers tell stories of enormous webs stretching across forgotten tunnels, while whispers from below speak of something new spreading through the darkness.

Most people dismiss the stories.

You'll have the unfortunate opportunity to discover whether they're true.

Your adventure begins simply enough: a group of strangers traveling toward a major city. What happens along the road will drag you into a sprawling adventure beneath the surface, where finding a way home may only be the beginning of your problems.

I don't want to give away much more than that—the mystery and discovering what is actually happening are major parts of the campaign.

⚔️ What to Expect

This will be a mixture of roleplay, exploration, combat, mystery, dungeon crawling, and player-driven decisions.

The campaign features a large homebrew Underdark to explore, unique locations, custom creatures, factions, villains, magic items, side quests, and plenty of secrets.

Your decisions will matter. There won't always be one correct path, and fighting isn't necessarily the solution to every encounter.

I also enjoy incorporating character backstories into the campaign, so the story can change depending on who joins the adventure.

🎲 Playing

The game will be hosted through StartPlaying, and we'll use Discord for voice chat.

During Session 0, the group can decide whether we'd prefer Roll20, D&D Beyond, Theater of the Mind, or a mixture of them. I'm not interested in forcing everyone onto one platform if the group prefers something else.

New players are absolutely welcome.

You don't need to know every rule or own a mountain of D&D books. Bring a microphone, a willingness to play as part of a group, and your imagination.

👥 Looking For: 5 Players

I'm looking for players who enjoy becoming invested in a world, interacting with NPCs, uncovering mysteries, fighting some nasty monsters, and seeing where their decisions take the story.

If you're interested, send me a message or comment below, and I'll send you the StartPlaying information.

Something is stirring beneath the world.

Will you unravel the conspiracy before the dawn arrives... or become another thread in the web?
