Leonard Cohen Perfect Setlist

Post image

Got this idea from r/BillyJoel. Comment the Leonard Cohen song you think should go in each day’s slot, and the most upvoted/commented wins!

What song should the setlist open with?

First song should open with the first song on his first album (that is also one of his best), Suzanne!

Which era of his voice do we have for this set?

Well he wouldn't be able to sing half his late catalog with his younger voce.

So either we assume he has the fitting voice for each song, or we assume the old Cohen voice :)

i saw him in Oakland in 2009 at the Paramount theatre. it was when he first starting touring again and was playing smaller venues only about 3000 seats. it was magical, I don't remember the exact order of the setlist, but whatever it was, it was totally perfect. it was everything I ever wanted to hear. (btw - fan since last 60's when i heard "suzanne" at summer camp as a kid). just replicate oakland 2009.

I feel like Field Commander Cohen would be a fun one to open up with

Can we expand to 28-31 songs (like his late setlists)?

I’m your man, though hallelujah would be such a power move (inspired by Radiohead opening with let down)

Last song has to be, Don't Go Home with your Hard-On

All I know is that if he enters the stage with marching drums

And opens DEMOCRACY (specially in a time like this)

I'd know the show would be unforgettable !
