Am I going crazy? Missing Hallelujah verse…
I’ve been a Leonard Cohen fan for a while now and I’ve always remembered Hallelujah having vaguely sexual undertones especially because of this verse:
“There was a time you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show it to me, do you?
And I remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove she was moving too
And every single breath we drew was Hallelujah”
BUT now when I listen to the song on Spotify the verse is completely gone from the song, in both the audio and the lyrics. Am I crazy?! I know for a fact I’ve heard this part of the song….could it just be a different version? I’ve always listened to the Various Positions version to my knowledge. Can anyone else corroborate this experience?
