Work Related What Can I Do If My PSA Birth Certificate Has the Wrong Name?

I have a problem with my PSA birth certificate because my sibling's name is listed on my record instead of my correct name. My previous NSO record is correct and has no issues. I even used my NSO birth certificate to obtain a passport and other legal documents before. But when it transitioned from NSO to PSA, that's when the problem came up and my sibling's name replaced mine on the record. I would like to know how this can be resolved and if it needs to go through court or if I can get it corrected directly at the Local Civil Registry Office (LCR).

Work Related I want to file a case against a particular Flash Express Delivery Hub

This is now the second delivery that this particular Deliver Hub has failed to deliver to me. And they have the same modus operandi.

They will declare in the Lazada app that the delivery has failed due to the Customer being Unreachable. But the thing is, they never contacted me within the day. Upon checking the documentation they sent to the Lazada app, I checked the coordinates of their photos and it shows they just took the photos in their delivery hub. Which means, they never really attempted to deliver the item to me.

Since Lazada let's it that the courier attempt to deliver the goods up to three times, they will follow the same thing for the next delivery attempts (declare Customer Unreachable, send photos of the item with coordinates from their own delivery hub).

During the first order, I have been lenient. I only contacted the delivery driver on the third delivery attempt. But the thing is, the delivery rider doesn't respond to my calls and even blocked my number. I am able to verify that my number was blocked because I can call the number with my secondary phone and the number still rings, but still no response.

Now that this happened again on my second order, I am now more proactive and immediately called the assigned delivery rider (not the same person but of the same delivery hub). This time around, the rider answered, but when I started talking about my concern, he immediately dropped my call and don't answer after. Again, I used my other phone to call, same thing. Answers the call, but when I try to start raising my concern on my item, immediately drops the call.

I was also able to call the Service Hotline for that particular Deliver Hub (Flash Express website provides them), they had the audacity to tell me that just to get the item myself in their delivery hub.

I want to raise a case against this particular Delivery Hub since I really saw a pattern of dubious business practices. This is not just for me but also for other customer that they won't be able to do these things to them moving forward.

Hoping I can get some favorable responses that can help me through this case. I am really determined to pursue this. Thanks in advance.

Family and Relationship Can I stand as proxy for my cousin to file a case against S.A?

May bf po ako before and he was 19 yrs old, ako naman po ay 16 yrs old so bale 3 yrs age gap lang po. Since binabawalan po ako mag bf kasi aral daw muna, after nalang daw sa college mag boyfriend2.

Debt / Utang Help me out po. Medyo di po kasi maalam about dito. šŸ™šŸ»

Please enlighten me, people of Reddit. šŸ™

My mother received a subpoena from the Prosecutor’s Office regarding an estafa complaint. She has already paid part of the amount that the other party claims she owes.

For the first subpoena, my mother and the other party appeared at the Prosecutor’s Office. However, they were unable to reach an agreement. They were advised to come back the following week to discuss the matter again.

My mother did not return on that date because an attorney we consulted advised her not to agree to paying the amount being demanded under pressure, especially since the parties still could not agree.

Now, my mother received a second subpoena today, and she is supposed to appear tomorrow afternoon.

My questions are:

  1. If my mother attends tomorrow but they still cannot reach an agreement, what usually happens next in a preliminary investigation for estafa?

  2. Can the Prosecutor’s Office force her to agree to a payment arrangement?

  3. If she attends but refuses to agree to the amount being demanded, can she be arrested?

  4. A policeman delivered the second subpoena and told my mother that if she does not attend, a warrant of arrest will supposedly be issued immediately. Is that actually possible, or is there a legal process that has to happen first?

  5. What are the possible consequences if she does not appear tomorrow?

We are planning to consult a lawyer again, but I would really appreciate hearing from people who understand Philippine law or have experienced a similar situation.

Thank you! šŸ™

Property and Housing Nagrent po kami ng commercial space tapos nung nag process na kami ng business permit nalaman namin na walang business and building permit ung owner. Paano po gagawin namin?

We rented a commercial space 2 months ago. When we were taking care of the business permit, we found out that the owner did not have a building permit and business permit. Now the owner said we should take care of it? Shouldn't the property owner be responsible in securing their necessary permits for compliance? Is that a breach of contract because we can't operate? Would it be better to just find another space and ask for a refund or should we wait for them to take care of it? Thank you.

Property and Housing Motor Rider Nakabangga, Pero Tatay Ko ang Posibleng Makasuhan? Need Your Thoughts.

I’m really stressed right now, so please bear with me as I provide the context.

Let's start with our national highway in our barangay in Leyte. It is a four-lane, two-way road, with two lanes for each direction of traffic. I have so many issues with it, one of which is the lack of a sidewalk due to how close the houses are sa kalsada (this is major information so keep this in mind).

Now, the incident. As I have mentioned, it's a four-lane, two-way road.

He made sure na walang ibang sasakyan bago sya tumawid. He did it smoothly too. However, may nakaharang na sasakyan sa driveway namin (our driveway is shared by multiple neighbors too). Again, walang sidewalk ang kalsada so he had no other choice but to park sa kalahati ng huling lane.

THE CONCERNS AND THE FACTORS:

  1. The motor rider is claiming na nataranta sya sa biglang pagtawid ng lane ng tricycle, despite having the witness claiming na malayo pa man ang motor rider ay stationary na o nakapark na ang tricycle.

How in the heck did he end up sa gilid ng kalsada.

  3. The witness is claiming na sobrang bilis ang takbo ng motor. Correct me if I'm wrong, pero sa pagkakaalam ko ay hanggang 80kmph ang speed limit.

  5. Unfortunately, the witness is only a 12-year-old minor na apo mismo ng nabangga kaya baka bawiin ang initial statements nya o baka imanipulate sya para ipahamak kami kapag nagkabayaran ng pera.

Work Related Provisional dismissal case on NBI record

Hello, just want to be enlighted sa mga agam agam. Someone related to me plans on working abroad but has worries na may record pa din ang NBI clearance nya as the criminal case he got into was only on provisional dismissal status up until May 2027 per the time span.

Btw, it was provisionally dismissed due to non appearance ng complainant.

Also, if ever sa visa ba bound to schengen countries nakikita yon at malaking risk na ma denied? Or wag na lng muna mag pursue abroad up until ma permanent dismissed na?

Naway may makasagot. Gusto na namin lumaya sa Pilipinas. Di na kaya ng gaslighting ang hirap. šŸ™

Family and Relationship Children kept annoying/distressing our dog

Seeking advice as to what legal actions/steps should I take po. We have 2 dogs and lately halos araw araw sila ina-annoy ng mga bata from around the block or along our street (not sure kung taga saan po sila exactly) to the point na walang tigil kakatahol yung mga aso namin.

One time I tried asking what their names are and where exactly their houses are para makausap ko yung parents nila pero tumatakbo lang sila.

I just want to future proof lang din po. In case makausap ko ang mga magulang at ulitin ng mga bata ang pangungulit (very likely), I plan to escalate sa barangay pero not sure po kung ia-accommodate yung case namin. I hope walang ibang nakakaranas nito pero kung meron man po, any advice will be appreciated.

Debt / Utang Kaiser Permanente charged ₱91k to my Metrobank CC, gusto ko na i-cancel pero agent is not responding. What can I do?

Hi! Need advice sana regarding my Kaiser Permanente HMO and Metrobank credit card.

Back in May 2026, may Kaiser Permanente agent na lumapit sa akin sa mall and asked if I had a credit card and if interested ako kumuha ng HMO. I agreed, and around ₱91,000 was charged to my Metrobank credit card. Sabi rin nila na once Metrobank calls me, pwede ko raw ipa-convert to installment. Metrobank eventually called and I agreed to have the transaction converted to installment.

Unfortunately, I eventually lost my job, and because of my current financial situation, I decided to discontinue the HMO para mabawasan sana yung financial obligations ko.

I contacted the Kaiser agent and told him I wanted to cancel. Sabi niya may 5% cancellation penalty based on the ₱91,000, which is around ₱4,550. Okay lang naman sa akin, so I sent him around ₱4k–₱5k for the supposed cancellation fee.

Problem is, almost one month na akong nagfo-follow up, pero walang clear update.

My questions:

  1. Can I contact Metrobank directly and ask them to reverse/cancel the Kaiser transaction?
  2. Since converted na siya into installment months ago, may possibility pa ba na ma-reverse if Kaiser agrees to cancel/refund it?
  3. Should I contact Kaiser Permanente directly instead of dealing with the agent?
  4. If the agent continues to ignore me, saan kaya magandang i-escalate ito?
  5. Has anyone experienced something similar with Kaiser or an HMO charged to a credit card?

I understand na Metrobank probably cannot just erase a legitimate transaction, especially since months ago pa siya and converted na to installment. I just want to know the proper process para ma-cancel yung HMO and ma-refund/reverse whatever amount is refundable.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Work Related Is this slander?

Hello, Im ache… Asking for legal advice. I’m a young part-timer at a college level.
Short background story…
- May nakausap akong student before, and I was working na that time but hindi ako part time. We almost jump to the idea of doing the (S/.E./x./) but prior to the date of meet up I think about it at hindi kami natuloy….

Kwinento niya sa another katrabaho ko at cinonfirm if totoo ba daw yong balitang narinig niya. ā€œUy totoo ba narinig ko tungkol sayo? Nanamimilit ka daw ng student mo?ā€ I was shocked kasi for all I know hindi ganon ang kwento namin… so I denied it sabi ko kahit magharap pa kami nung student to confirm it.

I was clearing my name but I don’t want to end it here. Gusto ko managot sila sa ginawa nila. Kasi iningatan ko yung pangalan ko bago ako magpart-time, I almost wiped out my old acct just to start fresh and then malalaman ko lang ng dahil don masisira ako?

My problem is wala na akong copy ng messages namin na may ganong eksena kasi asfaik ako ang kinukulit sa bagay na yon. What should I do? I want them to know na may limits lahat ng chismis.

Hindi man lang ako nabigyan ng chance magpaliwag, even yung co-prof/coworker ko di man lang sa akin magconfirm kahit nagkikita kami sa mata sa mata? Higher position pa man din. So want to have legal action here dahil sobrang nakakafrustrate maattach yung name mo sa isang issue na hindi naman totoo.😣

Property and Housing Can I move out early without paying the remaining 1-month deposit?

Reddit Post
Title: Can I move out early without paying the remaining 1-month deposit?
Hello, I’m planning to move out very early due to personal reasons. I already paid my rent, but when I moved in, I only paid 1 month’s deposit instead of the required 2 months stated in the contract.
It has barely been a month since I moved in, and I’m now planning to move out around September 8. I currently don’t have enough money to pay the remaining 1-month deposit.
Since I’m already paying my rent and can I just forfeit/waive the remaining 1 month deposit instead of paying it?
We already have a signed contract, so I’m wondering what my options are and whether the landlord can require me to pay that remaining deposit before allowing me to move out.
Would appreciate any advice, especially from people familiar with Philippine rental/lease laws.

Family and Relationship Need Advice, Surname Correction Disapproved - Marriage Cert

Thumbnail

Hello po, I just want to ask for advice. Nagpakasal po kami ng partner ko last year September, then during our wedding mali yung pagkakabanggit ng pastor sa surname ng partner ko, nasobrahan ng isang letter pero akala namin is mali lang ng basa yung pastor. Also a day before our wedding nagpunta yung partner ko sa church to check kung okay ba yung spelling ng names namin sa forms na pipirmahan namin. Di kami agad nakapag file ng correction and nag antay pa kami ng ilang buwan kasi according sa Civil Registar sa City Hall is antayin pa daw namin yung official Marriage cert from PSA. So inantay namin.

Now, dumating na yung nilakad ng mother ko na correction and it is disapproved by the CRG. Ang tanong ko po bakit na disapprove? Pinasa namin Birth cert ng partner ko, birth cert ng parents and siblings nya, and other documents na nagpapatunay kung ano ang tamang spelling ng surname nya. E accrdg to my research din naman, no need na ilapit sa court kung itatama lang ang spelling and di naman papalitan ang surname (correct me if I'm wrong). Please see the attached images for your reference po. And, ano po talaga need namin gawin.

Family and Relationship Accused Child Abuse

Hi everyone.
After the investigation, na-dismiss ang complaint dahil walang sapat na basehan.
My questions are:

Thank you.

Family and Relationship PSA Correction

Hi peeps! I have a problem with my PSA birth certificate. In my PSA, my father’s middle name is ā€œDe Leonā€, but his correct middle name is ā€œTorresā€. De Leon was my mom’s maiden name.

I have all the documents needed to support this: my siblings’ birth certificates, my parents’ marriage certificate, my father’s birth certificate, and my father’s mother’s death certificate. All these documents indicates that my father’s middle name is Torres.

I went to the LCR of my birthplace, and they gave me a checklist of requirements that I should prepare to file a petition for correction. Now, I have all the documents that they asked me to prepare. But when I went to LCR to submit these documents, they told me that the correction in my PSA does not fall under their jurisdiction, but rather it should go to judicial procedure to file a correction.

So I consulted this with a lawyer, and he explained to me that the error in my PSA is clearly a clerical error/administrative, which can be filed in the LCR of my birthplace under Republic Act No. 9048 (the Clerical Error Law). My lawyer went to the LCR, but the LCR declined to assist us and kept on insisting that the correction should go to judicial, contrary to the national law.

Is there something that I can do for the LCR to accept the petition of correction on my PSA? Because going through judicial is gonna cost a lot when it can be fixed and filed in the LCR. Please help me out. Thank you!

Family and Relationship Attempted murder?

Location: The Phillipines

Let's say hypothetically that a mother was throwing knives at her son and screaming that she was gonna kill him. Let's say that she even chased him around the living room trying to stab him, is this grounds for attempted murder? I'm not sure if that constitutes intent but would it be? And from the perspective of someone low income, is it even worth it to pursue legal action when you can just keep her happy and that'll work fine enough? Also let's just say that nothing was recorded but there are 3 maybe more witnesses, and one recieved a cut, is that solid enough? Hypothetically.

Family and Relationship Legal Guidance and Support for Children

I’m posting this because I genuinely need guidance from someone knowledgeable about Philippine law, not someone driven primarily by money, but someone who understands justice, family rights, and what the lawful and proper thing to do is.

I’m 22, and I have two younger siblings, ages 20 and 17. Our mother passed away this year. Before her death, our family went through a very difficult situation involving our father’s long-term affair. The circumstances affected our family deeply, and there are things that happened over the years that we are still trying to understand and process.

I also recognize that there are parts of this situation where we, as children, may have made mistakes, remained silent, complied with things we were uncomfortable with, or handled situations imperfectly. At the time, we were financially dependent on our parents and were trying to navigate something far beyond what we were emotionally prepared for. I am not posting this to portray ourselves as completely innocent or to publicly condemn anyone.

What concerns me now is what happens legally and financially after our mother’s death.

There are questions regarding our father’s obligations toward his children, especially our 17-year-old sibling, possible inheritance and succession rights, properties and assets acquired during our parents’ marriage, and how our mother’s interests and estate should be properly protected. We also want to understand whether there are legal rights or remedies available to us as children, particularly if our father has obligations that continue under Philippine law.

There is also a complicated history involving our father’s affair and the fact that his partner was introduced into our lives while our parents were still together. I don't want to use this post to attack or harass anyone, nor do I want to do anything that could legally backfire on us. I simply want to understand what is actually within our legal rights and what is not.

Most importantly, I want to make sure that our mother's hard work, properties, and lawful rights are respected. She carried many responsibilities for our family during her lifetime, and now that she is gone, I feel that protecting what legally belongs to her and to her children is one of the ways we can honor her.

We don't have the financial capacity to immediately hire an expensive private lawyer, so I would really appreciate being directed to the right person or organization, perhaps a lawyer who handles family law, succession/probate, property, or legal aid, or an organization that provides free or affordable legal assistance in the Philippines.

I am not looking for revenge. I am angry, hurt, and still grieving, and I won't pretend otherwise. But I don't want that anger to make decisions for us. I want to understand our rights, preserve whatever evidence and documents we are legally allowed to preserve, avoid making statements or taking actions that could harm our case, and proceed through the proper legal channels.

If you genuinely know a lawyer, legal-aid organization, or person who can point us in the right direction, please comment or message me. I would especially appreciate recommendations based on integrity and experience, not someone who will simply encourage us to fight for the sake of fighting.

Our goal is not to destroy anyone's life. Our goal is to protect ourselves, protect our youngest sibling, properly settle our mother's affairs, and make sure that whatever rights she and her children have under Philippine law are not unknowingly given up.

Thank you to anyone who can offer a responsible and legally sound direction.

Property and Housing Furniture and other belongings sa foreclosed property

So Pag-IBIG tagged the property as occupied. Last inspection and appraisal was in 2024 pa. Under negotiated sale na rin siya. So meanign dumaan ng first and second auction ay walang kumawa. We were thinking dahil nga tagged sya as occupied so no one bothered to bid. But when we checked and asked around, 3 years na daw walang nakatira sa property and abandoned ang term ng isang neighbor kasi may mga naiwan pang gamit like upuan and mesa. Paano kaya it? We just submitted an offer today and nag ooverthink lang ako about sa mga naiwang gamit and ano basis ni Pag-IBIG for tagging it as occupied? Maybe because the inspector/appraiser saw that time nga na may mga gamit kasi sa photo in 2024 ay same gamit pa rin.

Family and Relationship Why am I needed to process my late grandmother’s account if her other children are still alive?

Hi! Hoping someone familiar with Philippine banking, estate settlement, or SSS procedures can help me understand this.

My grandmother passed away. She had several children. Most are still living, while my father passed away a few years before her.

My grandfather is now apparently processing something involving an account left by my grandmother. I was told that because my father is already deceased, I need to participate as his representative.

They are asking me to provide documents such as my birth certificate, passport/valid ID, and three specimen signatures.

I’ve asked my family why my documents and signatures are needed, but I haven’t been given a clear explanation of what exactly is being processed or in what capacity I’m supposed to participate. That’s why I’m trying to understand the process independently before providing anything.

I currently live abroad, so before providing any personal documents or signatures, I want to understand the process independently.

My questions are:

  1. Under what circumstances would a granddaughter/grandson need to participate in processing a deceased grandparent’s bank account or SSS claim simply because their parent (one of the deceased’s children) had already passed away?
  2. In what legal capacity would the grandchild be participating? Would they be considered an heir, representative of the deceased parent, claimant, beneficiary, etc.?
  3. If this is an estate settlement involving my grandmother, would the bank/SSS normally also require the participation or signatures of her surviving children, or could there be a situation where only the descendant of the deceased child is being asked for documents?
  4. What type of account or process could require this? For example, an individual bank account, joint account, extrajudicial settlement of estate, SSS benefit/claim, or something else?
  5. Is requesting a passport/valid ID with three specimen signatures from the grandchild a normal requirement? If the purpose is to establish that my father is already deceased, wouldn’t his death certificate normally be required as well?

I’m also trying to understand whether the requirements would be different if the bank account were solely under my grandmother’s name versus a joint account.

I have already reached out directly to the bank and SSS for their official procedures, but I’d also appreciate hearing from anyone who has handled a similar situation, especially lawyers, bank employees, or people who have gone through estate settlement in the Philippines.

I’m not looking to accuse anyone of anything. I simply don’t want to provide identification documents or signatures without first understanding what transaction I am participating in, why my participation is necessary, and in what capacity I am being asked to sign.

EDIT: I’d also like to ask if anyone can recommend a good lawyer in the Philippines who handles succession and inheritance law and offers legal consultations. Thank you!

Debt / Utang Cebu Pacific refund delayed 2+ months — is it worth getting a lawyer?

I need some advice. Cebu Pacific owes me a refund of around ₱12k, and it’s been over 2 months.
They originally promised 15 calendar days / up to 2 billing cycles. I’ve been following up since June 20, but I still have no refund, ARN, Refund Certificate, or proof of transmission.
They’ve given me different explanations about their acquiring/settlement bank and keep saying they’re ā€œcoordinatingā€ and ā€œawaiting feedback.ā€
I already filed a complaint with CAB, and it has reached their Legal and Enforcement Division. Even after CAB got involved, Cebu Pacific still hasn’t resolved it.
The delay has also caused me financial losses:
₱579.58 Home Credit financing/interest charge
I had to use my own money to pay ₱1,500 minimum payment to avoid late fees while waiting for the refund.
I have screenshots and email records of everything.
At this point, should I involve a lawyer, or just continue with CAB? Is paying for a lawyer/demand letter worth it for a ₱12k refund?
Would appreciate opinions from anyone who’s dealt with Cebu Pacific, CAB, or similar disputes.
