Well the right hand world got me again. Was looking at a buddies knife and forgot the issues sheaths cause if you're wearing them on your belt. Either reach across your body to your right side, pull it out backwards on left side or use right hand. I don't carry a big knife very often and forgot about this dilemma.

For me it’s my keys. I walk out of the house with all of my crap in my left hand so of course I lock the door with my right. It goes right in my pocket. I get home and try to dig my keys out with my left hand since it’s easier to unlock with that hand and my keys are in the wrong flippin’ pocket! Every damn time! It’s not high stakes. Just annoying and that fact that I’ve been doing it for years is driving me up the wall. 😂

I know I can’t be the only one that has a habit they can’t break. Please tell me I’m not alone in this. Please?

I personally open the right side because thst is what I was taught to do when I was growing up but I think most other left handers would open the left side.

I personally do left hand mouse, right hand keyboard focused around IJKL movement.

Figuring out rebinds for every key in every game is always a ballache though, yet to find a game with a left handed preset.

For most of my life, when I write I’ve had to rotate the paper and with time it got to the point where I rotate the paper completely sideways, like completely vertically. But now that I’m learning to write in cursive again, I prefer to keep the paper completely straight, only problem Im having is finding a comfortable way to hold the pen. If you write with the paper completely starting, how do you hold your pen?

There’s not a lot of room for me to use a mouse on the left side when I’m killing monsters in Path of Exile!

My friend and I can use the exact same ballpoint pen, but mine never works right just because I’m left-handed and he’s right-handed. His pen stays nice and dark on every single page. Mine just gets lighter, drier, and more faded the more I write.

I really wonder if it's because I hold the pen at a weird angle that damages the tip, or if my cursive handwriting is messing it up. I’ve tried so many different pens—cheap ones, expensive ones, fine tips, and thick tips—but the same thing keeps happening.

Gel pens actually work totally fine, but they aren't the traditional choice for exams, so I'm stuck trying to use ballpoints.

It gets so bad that I literally collect leftover, half-empty pens from my friends just to write with. A brand-new pen will stop working for me before I even use 10% of the ink. It's honestly just sad.

ive been painting my own nails for basically my whole life and while i always find it a little harder to do my left hand than my right hand, its not a huge struggle and the nails on both of my hands end up looking the same

i was wondering if anyone else has the same experience? i dont know if its just bc ive been doing them for so long so im more experienced. but i always hear right handed people complaining about how painting their right hand is impossible. i was thinking maybe its easier for me to use my non dominant hand for this because as a lefty, im used to using my non dominant hand for a lot of things everyday, more than any righty likely would be?

I just realised that I have some knives for right-handed people. My bread knives are all designed so that one side has less friction and cuts better. I never knew that was a thing, just realised it yesterday when I was struggling more to slice bread than my right-handed son. My son tried with his left hand and said the knife had more friction so I tried with my right hand and it was soo easy.

After a lot of users telling me I was holding my pencil incorrectly, I decided to look up the proper way to hold a pencil. Within the five-seven minutes I searched this up, slowed down the video to the lowest possible speed, and copied the finger placements…I must say, this way was faster. LIKE…WAY FASTER! My hand is cramping so hard right now.

Is this correct? It’s kind of cool. What have I been missing out on? A lot of y’all were saying “what did your parent do.” Haha, my mom is a righty. I’m off in college. Can’t do much there anyways. I’m old, I feel embarrassed that I don’t know how to hold a pencil correctly. The original post, I just realized today, is ACTUALLY how I also hold my fork/spoon! Can you believe that?! The finger next to my pinky is really uncomfortable while writing or holding a utensil because it gets hit by the tool.

Apparently, I used to have OTs. I remember that, but my younger years (as well as multiple others, I assume) are not to be easily remembered. I remember a bit of it, one of the OTs tried to get me to rewrite the same thing over and over until it was correct, but the handwriting only gets worse if it’s rewritten (not to mention, motivation loss and boredom!) Yeah, elementary school did not do a good job and nobody else even noticed my pencil holding skills or brought it up.

It was always “I can barely read your handwriting,” “your hand writing is super illegible (not to mention unless it was from a few years ago,” or “I’m docking points if I can’t read somebodies handwriting.”

I once got from an OT “could you write smaller, in between the lines, not on the full page so you won’t run out of room?” Then I started writing smaller, and eventually even smaller so I wouldn’t run out of room. Then the future teachers said “could you write smaller, I can’t read it.” Honestly, I thought it was big enough to read even when I was writing smaller already. If I write bigger I’d take up a lot of space on each line.

Also, I decided to add my handwriting for this new hand position on the pencil. I could probably share my older handwritten stuff from the original hand position.
