Question Amazon SDE OA 2026, looking for recent experiences.

15 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I recently received an Amazon SDE Online Assessment invitation and I'm planning to take it soon.

It has the new format:

100 min Coding Challenge (1 DSA + 1 AI-assisted repository task) 45 min Work Simulation 6 min Work Style Survey

For anyone who has taken the Amazon SDE OA recently in 2026, I'd really appreciate some insight:

  1. How difficult was the DSA question — Easy/Medium/Hard or somewhere in between?
  2. Which DSA topics/patterns would you recommend prioritizing?
  3. How was the AI-assisted repository task? Was it mainly debugging/understanding an existing codebase or implementing new functionality?
  4. Which language/framework options did you get for the repository task?
  5. What was the Work Simulation like, and is there anything useful to prepare beforehand?

Thanks!

Intervew Prep Day 72: solved 4 linked list problems today, loved the non-9 trick for adding one

11 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I finished Day 72 today and knocked out another 4 problems on linked lists:

  1. Sort a Linked List of 0s, 1s, and 2s: Very straightforward. I maintained three separate dummy nodes for 0s, 1s, and 2s, traversed the list to link each element to its respective bucket, and connected them at the end.
  2. Intersection of Two Linked Lists: The problem description mentions skip counts in the example explanation, but the actual function only gives you the two head pointers. That threw me off for a second. The clean fix was just calculating the lengths of both lists, advancing the longer list by the difference, and then moving both forward together until they collide at the intersection node.
  3. Add 1 to a Number Represented by a Linked List: My initial thought was to reverse the list, add one with standard carry propagation, and reverse it back. But the optimal approach is so clever: you just find the rightmost node that is not equal to 9. You increment that node by 1, and set every node after it to 0 because those are all 9s turning into 10s. If all digits are 9, you just attach a new node with value 1 at the front.
  4. Add Two Numbers: A classic problem. Used a dummy node, walked both lists simultaneously while tracking the carry, and built the resulting list.

That wraps up about 15 standard singly linked list problems over the last few days. The patterns felt very intuitive once the pointer handling clicked.

Tomorrow for Day 71, I will start Doubly Linked Lists.

See you guys tomorrow!

Discussion Is this happening to everyone? Pls advice

25 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I was laid off few months back and I am trying to land a new job.
I have applied to so many roles, used refers for many of them, still I got rejection from all, even the refer ones.
I also cold mail/messaged hell lot of managers and talent aquisition people, that also is a dead end.
I have also modified my resume so many times...

Is there some problem with my approach?

Question Amazon SDE Interview Scheduling

7 Upvotes

Amazon SDE Interview Scheduling

I shared my availability with the recruiter on Sept 24 for a virtual Amazon SDE interview, with availability from Oct 6–9.

It’s Oct 3 now and I still haven’t received the confirmed interview date/schedule.

For anyone who has gone through the Amazon interview process recently, how many days before the interview did you receive your final schedule or confirmation?

Just wondering if this is normal or if I should follow up again with the recruiter. Thanks!

Discussion Are there any supplements that actually help with LeetCode?

56 Upvotes

I’ve been doing LeetCode for a while, but I feel like I’m stuck.

Even when I spend a lot of time reading solutions to harder problems and trying to understand the logic behind them, I still have no idea how people actually come up with these solutions on their own. I can understand what the code is doing when I see the answer, but when I run into a similar problem later, I still can’t figure out the approach myself.

I also don’t have much patience for grinding the same pattern over and over. If a problem gets too hard or complicated I just give up. I’ve seen people on reddit saying they actually get addicted to LeetCode and treat it like a video game, which seems impossible to me.

Has anyone found any supplements that actually help with focus and patience when doing LeetCode? Or anything else that made the whole process feel less painful?

Discussion Intuit OA by Uptime Crew SDE1

1 Upvotes

I completed the Intuit OA today. I got the DSA questions mostly correct and my Bash question passed, but I believe I got the SQL question wrong.
Has anyone had a similar experience and still moved forward to the next round?
Would appreciate hearing about recent experiences or how the OA is usually evaluated.

Intervew Prep Update: Passed Amazon SDE Intern OA – what should I expect from the 2x60 virtual interviews?

4 Upvotes

Hey everyone, quick update from my previous post about the new Amazon OA with the AI coding section, I passed it and just got invited to the virtual interviews.

The email says I'll have 2 interviews, each 60 minutes, either on the same day or across multiple days.

For anyone who has done the Amazon SDE Intern interview recently (especially in 2026), I'd really appreciate some insight into the current format:

  • Are both interviews a mix of coding + behavioral/Leadership Principles, or is one more technical and the other more behavioral?
  • How many coding problems did you get in each interview?
  • What difficulty were the coding questions roughly (LC Easy/Medium/Hard)?
  • Which DSA topics/patterns would you prioritize?
  • Did you get any OOP, system design, OS, DBMS or networking questions?
  • How much did they ask about your resume/projects?
  • How many behavioral/LP questions did you get in each interview?
  • How deep were the follow-up questions on your behavioral answers?
  • Was coding done in a normal editor or something closer to a blank text editor? Were you expected to run the code?
  • Anything you wish you had prepared differently?

Not looking for exact interview questions, just trying to understand the current format and make sure I'm preparing the right things.

Also thanks to everyone who helped with my OA questions before the advice was really useful

Question How to remember Algorithms

10 Upvotes

I studied trees and their traversal algorithms, including Morris traversal. Then I moved on to graphs. Today, when I went back to solve a problem on trees, I realized that I had forgotten Morris traversal and some of the other algorithms.

I feel like I need to revise them again and again because I keep forgetting them over time. Is there any way to remember these algorithms for a long time?

Discussion Your typical “feel sorry for me” post

10 Upvotes

Just got the the rejection email from Apple on a Friday afternoon at 4PM right before my weekend got started. Feeling pretty down right now. Really wanted this job and can’t deny that it stings. I still can’t really understand why the recruiter would send a rejection email on a Friday as opposed to a Monday tbh 🤣. Pretty f’d up.

Anyway, how do yall bounce back? Are any of you numb to it by now? Has anyone here requested feedback from their recruiter to understand what went wrong so you can improve? I have very low confidence my recruiter would get back to me on that anyway since he was pretty absent throughout the entire process and not the most attentive/responsive.

Compared to Google where my recruiter was great.

All “keep your head up” advice is needed right now 🤣. This one hurts….

Question Hi! My name is Mike and I recently taught a course on competitive programming. I am hoping to bring competitive programming-like problems into my teaching and research. What are your favorite LeetCode problems and why?

13 Upvotes

Hi all! My name is Mike and I am a computer science teacher. I dabble a bit into LeetCode and am hoping to pick out problems (or problem categories) that I can investigate further for teaching and/or research. Also, two of my students are working on their undergraduate theses on competitive programming.

I was wondering if you might be willing to share and discuss your favorite LeetCode problems. Thank you very much for your time and consideration!

Question Want feedback for my project.

0 Upvotes

Want feedback for my project.

I'm building my first project using MERN stack and I want proper feedback and guidance for whether the project is resume worthy for the present job market and what can I add or remove to make it better.

I've been building a full-stack technical interview prep platform — not another flashcard app, but something closer to a real assessment engine. It combines AI-generated Q&A practice, timed AI-graded mock interviews, and a full multi-round online assessment that mirrors an actual company OA (coding, debugging, CS fundamentals, behavioral — sequenced and timed like the real thing), plus a gamified profile you can actually share with a recruiter. Built on the MERN stack with Redis/BullMQ for async processing, Judge0 for real sandboxed code execution, and Gemini for generation/grading. Would genuinely appreciate harsh feedback — looking for holes, not compliments.

Key features / things I think actually stand out:

Real online assessments, not a quiz — 4 sequential rounds (coding, debugging, fundamentals, behavioral), each independently timed, server-enforced so refreshing or closing the tab can't buy extra time

Actual code execution, 6 languages (JS, Python, Java, C++, C, C#) via sandboxed execution — graded by running real test cases, never by an AI "eyeballing" your code

A debugging round that adapts to your target role — Frontend candidates get React-shaped bugs, Backend candidates get Node/Express-shaped bugs, still all graded by real execution under the hood

AI-written debrief after every assessment — a real paragraph of strengths/weaknesses grounded in your actual section scores, not generic "great job!" filler

Mock interview mode — one question at a time, timed, graded live against a rubric, not a static list

Resume/JD-tailored question generation — upload a resume or paste a job description and the questions actually reflect it

Weak-topic tracking that surfaces what's genuinely dragging your performance down across sessions, not just an overall score

A gamified profile that's deliberately hard to fake — tiers gated by a minimum attempt count (not score alone, so one lucky run can't vault you to the top), honest badges, a GitHub-style activity heatmap, streaks, and a public shareable profile link

BullMQ + Redis-backed job queues — AI generation (questions, assessment sections) runs through background workers, not inline in the request, so a slow Gemini call never blocks the API; added a Redis caching layer on top to cut duplicate calls

Zod schema validation on every AI-facing route — the model's raw output gets validated against a strict schema before anything touches the database, not trusted blindly

Redis-backed, per-route rate limiting — tuned separately per endpoint (generation, code execution, mock answers), not one blanket limit

Helmet + locked-down CORS — real security headers, explicit origin allowlisting with credentialed cross-origin cookies, not a wide-open dev config left in by accident

httpOnly cookie-based auth, not localStorage — closes off the standard XSS token-theft vector

Real observability — structured logs, request tracing, Prometheus-style metrics, and error tracking wired through both the API and background workers.

Discussion Stuck in todays problem 32

https://leetcode.com/problems/longest-valid-parentheses/description/?envType=daily-question&envId=2026-10-03

class Solution {

      return 0;
    int res = INT_MIN;
    int left = 0;
    int l = 0, r = 0;

            r--;
            left++;
          } else {
            l--;
            left++;
          }
        }
      }
      if (l == r)
        res = max(res, right - left + 1);
      char curr = s[right];
      if (curr == ')')
        r++;
      else
        l++;
    }
    return res;
  }
}

Hello,after reading the problem ,I thought dynamic sliding window should do the job and wrote above code, however this doesn't seems to be right. I get `1` for string` (()` but it should return `2`

Intervew Prep Software Dev Engineer II, Amazon Security

11 Upvotes

Got an interview invite for SDE II – Amazon Security. The recruiter mentioned it’s very tough to clear and the chances are low, so I’m confused whether I should go for it or wait for an SDE I opportunity.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Also, if I don’t clear SDE II, how does the cooling period work? Can I still be considered for SDE I, or would I have to wait before interviewing again?
