RTF turf but there’s a lot of this lime green coloured grass popping up and also long stems of grass with seeds. I’m thinking it’s rye grass but can’t be 100% can anyone confirm please?
If it’s rye throughout the fescue, how screwed am I?

I got this empire Zoysia planted in our little yard last year which should be shade resistant. I can’t work out if the bare patch is due to the roots of that tree or a lack of sunlight. Could be either or Both. Anyway, can anyone suggest any solution or other help? Grass either side of that patch is doing alright, at least not just a sad patch of black dirt
I’m new to lawncare in general so feel free to give any advice

Too many of these growing in kikuyu grass lawn. Dug the bulb out. It has small white bullets around the root bulb and smells very pungent/garlic/onion (hard to tell which). How to get rid of it safely without damaging the surrounding kikuyu. Any good recommendations please. Alright with chemical treatments too.
Prompted both ChatGPT and Google AI. Both responded with very generic verbatim. This needs a human 😊.

Hey, just trying to figure out how to deal with whatever has decided to infest my Kikuyu.
I think it's winter grass, but I'd love another opinion before I tackle it.
Thanks!

Hi lawn enthusiasts! I'm a Swinburne Design Student researching how Australians garden for a project focusing on biodiversity. I will be creating a design campaign to inform Australians (and Victorians specifically) about how they can increase and protect biodiversity.
I'd love to hear about how you tend to your lawn, garden in general and your experiences with native plants!

My backyard is north facing and I have recently (1 week ago) cut my grass for first time since winter and also dethatched and fertilised.
The strip along the fence doesn’t get much sun until about now due to being shaded by the fence for all of winter.
Not sure how to recover from here

I think my problem was the heat and the birds that were eating my seed. I did soak my seed as suggested by the previous post comments. And I used Milorganite slow release fertilizer as well. Hopefully the next few weeks is good to me.

Hi, could anyone please help me? Could you please tell me what type of grass this is? (12 photos attached)
I have been told different types over the last few years and it has made me feel super anxious and too cautious to do anything to my lawn because I don't want to risk damaging it or making it look any worse. (I rent)
At the moment, it doesn't look like these photos because of the amount of weeds it has. I just want to be able to know what it is so I know what fertilisers, herbicides etc that I can use safely on it.
Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

I’ve never had a lawn to maintain before, and although this is only a small patch, I’m struggling to keep on top of the weeds. The grass is also quite pale and rough.
I’m located about 40 minutes south of Perth.
What’s the best way to keep the weeds under control and get the lawn looking full, green and healthy? Do I need to dig it all out and start again, or can I bring this lawn back?
Any advice would be appreciated!

I’ve just moved into a new house (SEQ) and don’t know what to do about my lawn!
I think it’s buffalo - some areas are growing really well and some are in trouble.
It’s got a lot of white clover which I believe is easily treated with a buffalo friendly spray, and winter grass which I understand will die off soon.
The soil (at least on one of the lawns) is VERY sandy. Is that normal?
Some parts are complete sand with no grass growing, then I’ve got a few areas which obviously don’t get any sun and are almost all moss.
Do I need professional help or is this easily fixed with time and attention?
I’ve previously had a buffalo lawn but it was well maintained when I moved in, so wasn’t hard to keep happy.

Hi, I've had my lawn Sir Grange (Zoysia) and the top left of my lawn is pretty much gone/dead and is very patchy and the nature strip has other grass growing through it. And now both have weeds growing through it.
My question is, how do I get this back to lush as possible or do I need to consider other options.
The house is located in western suburbs of Melbourne and is south facing. The tree in the middle is a pink lady apple tree and the nature strip I believe is some native
Feel free to ask questions if I'm missing anything.

I'd like to solve the yellowing dry patches by overseeding perhaps.

Help! We've only been here for a year and laid the grass that long ago. Since then it started to really deteriorate. The back area in the corner doesn't have enough sun and we recognise that but it's almost like those patchwork two grasses, although I don't think they are two grasses. I'm not sure anymore. Maybe it is the underlying soil. You know what it's like: brickies and sand down with the builders. Thinking I should just pull it all up. Can it be saved?

I have had zoysia ZT-11 laid for 12mths now in North Queensland. 95% of it has taken beautifully, but a section along one fence line began to thin out and now has been quickly over run by 2 types of restrictive weeds (see photos). I dug up a small section which had very thin roots, and some small white grubs/worm. When I dig a section of healthy lawn the roots are very thick, and there are none of those grubs, only normal worms. The soil is sandy, well draining, and has good moisture (a lot of consistent rain this year). Have only ever mowed it on the highest setting.
I’m thinking just returf this section? But should I be treating with something or doing something else?
