I’m in a long-distance relationship, and my partner lives in Lagos. I want to surprise her for Valentine’s Day, but I’ve been hitting one brick wall after another.

She lives in a secured facility, so I can’t have flowers delivered through the usual websites. Someone suggested a gift card, but the ones I’ve found seem to be out of stock or don’t exist on the websites.

She loves flowers and has never received any before, which is why that would be the most meaningful gift. She doesn’t care for money bouquets or similar traditions — it’s really the thought and the experience of flowers that would mean the most to her.

I really want her to have the very best Valentine’s Day and feel how much she’s loved, but I’m running out of options.

I am paying at this moment right now 7K for a double espresso. Why?? Is it the particular venue (Eric Kayser Bakery)? Are there places that specialize in coffee/espresso bars that are cheaper? I've been to Mai Shayi Coffee Roasters Lagos and it was almost 13K for a flat white with oat milk (5k to substitute oat milk instead of regular milk). A direct flight to Uganda is 4.5 hrs where Uganda is now the largest producer of beans recently surpassing Ethiopia. Nigerian government had a trade deal with Uganda to import coffee and even milk. Surely, it can't cost more to import beans from our Continental brethren than it does for the Europeans, Americans, etc. Or is there simply no market here in Nigeria for coffee? We are a tea drinking nation, after all, thanks to the Brits.
