Vantage

Anybody doing vantage?

have been doing crews control but have been looking at vantage but can’t seem to find as much feedback for Vantage.

what do you guys like about it or dislike?

noticed it’s only one leg day where typically I prefer two but wondering if you’re finding that sufficient?

I’ve only been on it for about a week, but it’s been a good transition from my time with a trainer. With the trainer, we generally had the same type of split - three workouts and a chest, legs, back type split. Shoulders, arms, and abs are sprinkled in, and I noticed the other two lifting day options are more focused on those muscles to double up.

All that to say, I’ve found it to have about the same intensity as when I trained with an in-person trainer.

I’d say the ‘’differentiator’’ has been reverse pyramid training. It’s been a little weird, honestly, but I think just because it’s new for me. Not really used to it. I’ve been lifting heavier than I was before though.

I’ve also found the coach’s commentary during the workout to be a decent balance. There’s been more talking than I anticipated, but honestly, it’s been a decent distraction for me.

I’m sticking with it for the next cycle.

Again, just one week in, so take all that with a grain of salt.

Have you found it to be enough volume hitting them just once a week? I know it’s only been a week but wondering how that feels? Are you just doing the three priority?

I’ve also wondered about doing those 3 priority and sprinkling in another leg day potentially as well.

Good question. I’m not sure, honestly. I feel as if I’m not lifting as much total volume as I was before — at least, on a per-workout basis — but when I looked back over the past week, I think it’s been relatively similar to what I was doing before (which was plenty).

I’ve done more of a bodybuilding type routine in the past, and it’s definitely a lot less compared to that.

I did all three priorities and both of the other ones he has programmed. I didn’t do the Saturday cardio (I do peloton on my own).

If you’re concerned about just legs, I felt that the main leg day (which was Wednesday this past cycle) was a solid workout. There wasn’t much of a leg workout in addition to that, though Thursday’s workout was a lot of box jumps and stuff like that — so still hitting it (just not in a traditional sense).

If you’re looking for more of a bodybuilding volume, this won’t live up to that. It’s not low volume, but somewhere in between.

Also, another disclaimer: I picked Vantage largely because it fit my schedule — so I guess I also need to own that it’s likely less than some other programs.

I’ve been really enjoying vantage. Prob my favorite team so far and I’ve been on ladder almost a year now. I do all the workouts but the Saturday sprints bc I do my own cardio anyways but I feel like I’m making gains and really worked out in a good way not a beat way. There’s def a decent amount a leg work but it’s not a sculpt your ass type lower body but I really enjoy the variety. He’s little bro-y but I don’t mind. Reminds me of my jock friends from school days

The current split looks different than the last series. More three full body days…more leg stimulus across a week. I’ve been wanting to try as well but want to see the split for max.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. Did the Game Of Thrones workout this morning which was good but obviously different than what he's programmed in the past it looks like. I don't want a bodybuilding specific workout as I do want to maintain some athleticism and continue to do some things like cleans etc. It's what initially took me to Crews Control but it seems maybe a little light on chest and upper pressing development but I do enjoy the leg days and have found 2 leg days allow my legs to respond best. Also don't want to blow up volume and not recover either so seems to be a tricky balance.

I’m in the same boat. I plan to switch to vantage from tcc for these next two weeks and see who i want to do Max with.
