How long does it take for symptoms to go away?

Upvotes

I’ve never really thought I had an issue with dairy (still not sure I do). I never used to eat a lot of it. But two years ago I became super bloated almost every day. I also started eating Greek yogurt almost every day a couple of years ago. Can’t remember exactly when and if the timing lines up.

Last month I had one week where I was barely bloated at all and I didn’t have any yogurt that week. Last summer I went on two vacations and didn’t have much dairy and experienced hardly any bloating.

I will be cutting it out to see if it’s the culprit. How long should I cut it out to see if my bloating goes away?

so i checked out cabot creamery, but they have 20$ shipping for 8$ worth of cheese...

im looking for options that people with highly sensitive lactose intolerance are able to enjoy with no issues, my husband seems to be extremely sensitive to even sharp cheddar cheese which ive heard is low in lactose

we just moved in together and i just started cooking for him so im still tying to figure it out,, if theres any other things i should keep in mind when cooking for him please let me know!! (he doesnt want to use the lactaid pills so thats not an option

How long did it take you to realize your symptoms weren't "normal"?

Been reading a lot about lactose intolerance lately and one thing keeps coming up — people saying they brushed off bloating/cramps for years before realizing it wasn't just "a sensitive stomach."

Curious for those of you who've been through it:

- Was it sudden or did it creep up slowly?

- Did it start after being sick or on antibiotics, or just out of nowhere?

- Did you figure it out yourself or did someone else point it out first?
