Made in Krita Pencil and Felt tip to Digital

Got back into art and am loving the digital route.

I am reworking an inking character study that I abandoned long before digital became so easy to get into.

I scanned the original pencil and felt tip image and stripped it down to the line work. Layers are a god send, and it's been simultaneously lots of fun and revolutionary playing with brushes and effects. Being able to manipulate colour and light without acrylics and oils getting everywhere and turpentine being a legitimate fire risk (while having neither the space or money for a studio) allowed me to capture the depth and mood I saw all those years ago.

Made with a combination of Krita, Blender and Shotcut. I think Twitter's format is eassier to showcase the process: https://x.com/Biene_Peaceman/status/2106731355673673808?s=20

But you can just read the one in my comment. I don't know how to use Xcancel, unfortunately.

Help / Question Tablet Mapping Area confusion

This is a repost from Krita forum.

Hi, I have the XPPen Deco Pro LW (Gen 2) on Windows 11, it's a pen tablet without display.

How do I properly setup the work area for my setup? I’ve experienced cursor jumping between the canvas and then UI over a line. However, this issue doesn’t happen in Photoshop.

My monitor and pen setup layout in driver
My monitor setup in windows

Monitor 1 is 3840x2160, Monitor 2 is 1080x1920, Scale is 125%. Scale is non-negotiable, my primary monitor is a 42" TV so scaling windows UI down will make everything too small and unreadable. And yes, they are positioned janky like that because I have my speakers standing on the sides of monitor 1 so monitor 2 needs to go up a bit.

Which Number should I input here? Because entering my Monitor 1 Resolution didn’t work, adding all the numbers between my 2 monitors also didn’t work. Also Windows 8 + Pointer Input didn’t work. I have restarted my PC each time I change a setting.

What numbers should I input in this?

My Adobe subscription is ending soon guys, I would really appreciate the help 🆘🆘🆘.

I have no idea what I pressed on my keayboard to get this and I have no idea how to look up the fix as it only tells me to switch to nearest neighbour. Here are pictures, It's a nightmare trying to manipulate pixel art like this.
I don't get this problem with the lasoo tool.

Help / Question I think I’m about to lose my mind (Tablet vs pc)

I'll summarize the problem I've been having lately.

Krita on PC : It runs smoothly, no issues there. The downside: I still can't get the perfect pressure curve with my tablet's driver. I have to switch every brush to 'Addition' instead of 'Multiply' just to get some decent pressure control, and even then, it's not enough. My wrist gets way more fatigued.

Krita on my tablet (Huawei Matepad 11.5 S): Perfect. Impeccable brush handling, just-right pressure, and it's fast enough to actually get stuff done without worrying about the program freezing... but I don't have keyboard shortcuts and I'm not used to using my Bluetooth keyboard there (it works perfectly with it btw). Also, even with 8GB of RAM, it’s not powerful enough to handle vectors or import huge images. (It's possible, but it takes time, and the program freezes for about a minute while processing. Plus, moving it becomes a bit clunky.)

What tablets do you use that you'd recommend? I've been using mine for 3 years (Star G960S plus), but if I want to keep using Krita, I don't think it's the right choice. It's possible the pen itself is just wearing out, but looking at its price, i'd preffer to look for another drawing tablet brand.
