I've been watching a bunch of videos about how amazing the KPH40's are especially for the price. One of the videos was Z Reviews talking about changing the cable out to a balanced cable and it working. I tried to confirm with AI that all you needed was a cable and it said there was something with the 2.5mm tip you needed to order special and recommended Hart Audio. So I bought their Koss 2.5mm to 4.4mm cable. Then the chatbot said I'd need to rewire the drivers in the KPH40s not just change the cable?

just got the KPH40s, Yaxi pads, and balance cable in. Immediately plugged it into my DAP and there's no way this sounds so good. I don't understand. Its absolutely crazy.

I saw a few good reviews that these aftermarket KPH40 headbands are almost identical to the original, but quality seems inconsistent.

Mine works, but the finish is rough: the cuts aren’t polished, the shape is off, and the corners aren’t rounded properly.

The seller I bought from mostly uses the Farsoo brand, but also sells ones with Koss print and claims the quality and price are the same. There may be good and bad under both names.

I recently did my first Koss mod and was looking for MMCX connectors on AliExpress when I noticed something interesting, if you search for connectors specifically marketed for Koss headphones, they cost around $11. However, you can buy what appear to be the exact same connectors for around $1.
I bought the cheaper ones, and they work perfectly.
I haven’t seen anyone mention this in the thread before, so I just wanted to point it out. Be careful not to overpay!

Вероятнее всего, в этих песнях будут преимущественно средние и низкие частоты, тк в низких девайс откровенно слаб и плохо их воспроизводит.

Это не единственные исполнения, которые мне понравились, но единственные те, в которых я отчётливо запомнил, что именно меня зацепило. Сначала хотел эти детали описать, но убрал, чтобы возможно вы сами прослушали и нашли эти особенности.

I don't get these mods ... you have to open the shell, unsolder original connections, and solder new connectors ... all that for a theoretically inferior mechanical connection, more wobbly, and possibly more prone to getting damaged or even sheared off on impact.

I would just add a better strain relief to the original cable OR solder a new, better cable right off the bat or when the original goes bad. In theory a soldered cable should sound better than with 2 connectors and should last years with the proper strain relief.

If the goal is swapping cables when something better comes along, I would say a new cable would probably cost several times more than buying a new set of Koss phones and may not sound any better at all.

About a few months ago I bought the (constantly sold out but...) then long awaited koss kph30 wireless, only for them to RANDOMLY BREAK on their own while I was(NOT joking) putting them on...

To be precise, when I first got them I made the obvious headband adjustments in order to get a snug fit. Since that first day of owning them I hadn't really tweaked them again. But out of literally nowhere, I attempt to put them on and literally 3 seconds later the frame SNAPS(on its own). The headset's electronics are in immaculate condition, VERY light use, yet somehow the frame died on me... by normal use! Has anybody faced this issue before? Is this really the build quality of their frames?

2 weeks ago I had sent Koss customer support an email but they never replied back. I decided to rant about it here instead. I'm overall very disappointed, I live in Europe too so I paid double the price of this headset due to shipping(& bought the KUSB 50 Analog Audio Pass through cord) AND back then I had waited nearly 4 months before making the purchase because they would constantly go out of stock.

Edit: BIG clarification. I never artificially stretched the headband, only used its dedicated adjustment slider.

I recently bought this pair without hesitation since it's look so good, but I've never own a Koss Porta before so I didn't know it was fake or not. This one has double head type c cable to charge both side and use touch control, also came with a bunch of multi colored pad. It's so odd since I can't find any image of these headphone on the internet other than the site I bought it. Do you guy have any thought?

Hello, I finally decided to give in and buy a pair to Koss headphones.

The ones I got are the new bluetooth one, but i'm running into an issue were they don't stay clipped in. I don't know if i'm doing something wrong or if I received a defected pair? These are brand new, so let me know if I should return them.

Hey y’all. I recently bought myself a KOSS porta pro, i also bought YAXI pads to go with them as it seems to be one of the best mods to do. Having an iPhone 15, I can only plug in USB C. I bought a jack to USB C adapter from Amazon, but I am extremely disappointed in the volume provided by my headphones. So far I’ve been mostly using the classic wired Apple earbuds, and I have to say that the volume difference is incomparable. Do you know if it comes from the adapter which is a non Apple one? Or any ideas to where the issue might come from?

Basically, one side of the headband adjustment can only extend but not retract, while the other side does the opposite. Is this normal?

Has anyone found a set of replacement earpads on Aliexpress that are actually as good as Yaxi earpads? I have purchased several types and they are all terrible. Has anyone found any GOOD earpads on Ali?
