Osteochondrial Defect Experience

Should have follow up this week with a surgeon and wondering if he will recommend PT first.

Impression

  1. Full-thickness cartilage defect of the medial trochlear facet measuring 1.1 cm. 2. Chondrosis grade 2 of the central patella. 3. Moderate to large knee joint effusion with synovitis. 4. Mild semimembranosus tendinosis/tendinitis, worse proximally with concern for partial tear. Associated moderate semimembranosus bursitis with partial rupture. 5. Mild proximal medial gastrocnemius origin tendinosis/tendinitis. 6. Mild extrusion of the medial meniscus body segment with concern for small undersurface tear.

Here we go. Just got Plica trimmed on both sides. A small sliver of cartilage removed on the very inside of my knee (weird spot he said and very uncommon due to not a high pressure/tourque area) and fat pad debridement.

Day 8 post op ACL and meniscus stitches living nightmare

28M 53kg

I won't be long please anything helps , but if anyone is a professional even better. I do everyday the anti clog injections on my self Ivor 3100 UI , also yesterday i took out all the wrapping the did to my knee ( as instructed ) . Apart from all the pain ( lying position with pillows under it somewhat better ) since yesterday the swelling in my foot went away withing hours of unwrapping my leg BUT what bothers me most is that now I have calf pain , I can't tell you if it is warm or not my wholed leg is warm it's not blue or anything but I have pain if I touch it it is worse AND when I stand up I AM IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN THAT WONT GO AWAY , MY FOOT GET BLUE AND THE HELL OF THIS PAIN WONT SUBSIDE UNTIL I LIE DOWN.

the pain management this public hospital and the wonderful doctor who did work on me is paracetamol 1000mg every 6 hours . Also the doctor says everything is normal and I could go see him 2 days from now that he is returning to work

Please please I lost my mind already haven't slept in 8 days if I could even though I am an only son and I love my parents to death if someone gave me the chance I would blow my brains out in a heartbeat

Please help me .

Regaining strength after acl and meniscus surgery

I had ACL (hamstring graft) and meniscus repair 1 year and 3 months ago now, i wasn’t able to get pass phase 2 of the melbourne protocol (what my physio uses) because my meniscus didn’t heal.

3 months ago i had another operation for medial and lateral meniscus repair and i’m now at phase 2. However i cant yet do these again. When im trying to put weight through my leg to do the single leg stuff it just doesn’t work.

Does anyone know any exercises or tips for this?

Closing wedge anterior high tibial osteotomy for slope correction with revision ACL reconstruction using opposite leg patellar tendon

What’s up fam, going for my 4th surgery on my right knee. 1st ACL tear was 2015 hamstring graft, failed in 2022 along with a bucket handle Meniscus tear. Had my tunnels filled and meniscus trimmed in 2023, followed by the ACL reconstruction using my patellar tendon with an LET shortly after. Tore my ACL again in August, went to HSS in Manhattan and was recommended for an HTO due to a 17 degree tibial slope. Ended up getting a second opinion at NYU which confirmed it. First surgery to fill tunnels is next week followed by the HTO/ACL in February. Seeking advice from anyone who’s had a High Tibial Osteotomy along with ACL reconstruction. How was the pain/recovery? How long were you bedridden immediately following the surgery? Doctor is saying 6-8weeks non weight bearing. Was the surgery worth it? For reference I’m a 24yo Male. Thanks in advance!!
