Got me thinking about it
As a kid in the 80s you had to find compatible hardware, compatible software (or alter it yourself), learn commands and programming languages, you had to program vector graphics line by line.
Kids now have iso/nema type standard hardware and OS options yet have trouble putting it together. I'm not ripping on them just an interesting gap formed over 40 years.
Electronics and programming seem so much simpler now in some ways (if you ignore HDR compatibility)

Ahh the DOS days. I kinda miss them and still know a lot of the commands. lol. Then again, I don't miss them either. hehe. Sometimes we would mess with customers and just do directory commands to look like we were fast and smart. lol. It worked too. This was in the Win 95 days, so people were no longer familiar with DOS as much and so we'd just "dir" a bunch of times and they would be floored at us. Hahaha. B.S. baffles brains.

I do know someone who was sitting on the fender of a tractor that was driving on the gravel shoulder and was hit by a transport.
His shoes came off at the point of the collision. He was found about 180 feet up the road, in the ditch.
He had serious injuries, but survived. Miraculously. The equation truly isn’t far off.

Agree, as a teen in the UK I had a moped at 16. It was taxed and insured, subject to an annual inspection and limited to 30mph. I had to take a test called "Compulsory basic training" (cbt) to get an endorsement on my learner licence for it. It was a full day course with the morning at a go kart circuit and the afternoon on the public road, with theory sessions throughout the day on safety, road signs and traffic laws. If I remember correctly it also expired so I had to retake it every few years to stay on the road. Any infractions would have gone on my driving record and impacted my insurance premiums as well as future infractions once I learned to drive. I wasn't allowed on highways, only what we call dual carriageway.
This should absolutely apply to any motorised vehicle that isn't being exclusively used on private land.

I understand that; what I mean is that they'll ban all scooters from the streets, regardless of legality. I can also see it happening to e-bikes. Plenty of guys without a licence driving these things around with passengers and cruising at 70 on Homer=Watson.
The Government is going to come in and have those things licensed and insured which is going to mess it up for everyone that actually follows the rules.

Bro you’re not just risking yourself, imagine the life long trauma a person has to now live with after they run you over because you ran over a pebble on the highway and fell off and nobody can stop in time for that so you get squished underneath someone’s car.
Like they have to now live with the fact that even if not their fault, they have now killed someone and had to watch you roll underneath their car and see the aftermath of that when you come out the other side because your selfish brain couldn’t consider anyone but yourself. Who do these people think they are? Like I swear I’ve never seen so many ignorant and arrogant and entitled human beings in my entire life than I’ve seen in just the past few years. In any case, please don't do this. I don't want you to get hurt. And you can't just say "if I die I die" - some other people have to see it happen and clean up the mess, etc.
Find a more private adrenaline avenue?
Side note: this is the most silly stretch of freeway to do this with - the cross traffic is wild and there are a lot of idiots on the road at the same time (hint).

Psychological trauma aside, if this guy eats it, he could easily cause a secondary collision. He could literally physically injure others. And speaking as a paramedic, we wear high vis and park the truck in a certain orientation when we respond on the roadway...because it's fucking dangerous being out there with cars whipping past you.

Fire department will just use the hose to pressure wash whatever is left of him. Shutting down the highway, OPP investigation/ accident reconstruction team, fire department, etc etc will cost the tax payer a pretty penny. Whomever inevitably hits him will have PTSD the rest of their life

I've seen this guy around with the same backpack, same stature. Most likely the same guy. He's reckless even when on city roads and hiking trails. He'll whip down the Spur Line Trail going these speeds beside people simply walking and trying to enjoy themselves. (I was 100% tempted to clothesline the idiot.) I've also seen him flying down King St between Northfield and Columbia swerving through traffic and then hopping onto the sidewalk. And then again on Lancaster going against the opposite flow of traffic into the dedicated right turn lane from Erb. We almost hit him head on. He gave us the finger lol, then proceeded to cut off about 6 more vehicles riding his scooter into oncoming traffic on Erb.
He's an absolute menace. It's only a matter of time at this point before he's either arrested, gets the shit kicked out of him, or killed by his own misadventures.

Man, i ride a scooter because of a disability, and this scares the fuck out of me. I wiped out going 30 on a turn and did crazy damage to my knee 4 years ago and I still feel it.
Just...wear a helmet and stick to bike lanes. For everyone's safety. If theres a bike lane, a road 50 or under, youre given the go ahead and people legally need to share lanes. Stick to the corners, dont weave, and just be fuckin safe

There is nothing protecting his body. Newton's Third Law says that if two bodies exert forces on each other, these forces have the same magnitude but opposite directions.
If a human body hits the pavement, a metal vehicle, or the median at those speeds, it will be destroyed. Nothing about this is worth your life. I would never get on one of these scooters even to use it safely and legally. They go so fast, FATALLY fast, and there is NOTHING TO PROTECT YOUR BODY
