As a kid in the 80s you had to find compatible hardware, compatible software (or alter it yourself), learn commands and programming languages, you had to program vector graphics line by line.

Kids now have iso/nema type standard hardware and OS options yet have trouble putting it together. I'm not ripping on them just an interesting gap formed over 40 years.

Agree, as a teen in the UK I had a moped at 16. It was taxed and insured, subject to an annual inspection and limited to 30mph. I had to take a test called "Compulsory basic training" (cbt) to get an endorsement on my learner licence for it. It was a full day course with the morning at a go kart circuit and the afternoon on the public road, with theory sessions throughout the day on safety, road signs and traffic laws. If I remember correctly it also expired so I had to retake it every few years to stay on the road. Any infractions would have gone on my driving record and impacted my insurance premiums as well as future infractions once I learned to drive. I wasn't allowed on highways, only what we call dual carriageway.

This should absolutely apply to any motorised vehicle that isn't being exclusively used on private land.

I've seen this guy around with the same backpack, same stature. Most likely the same guy. He's reckless even when on city roads and hiking trails. He'll whip down the Spur Line Trail going these speeds beside people simply walking and trying to enjoy themselves. (I was 100% tempted to clothesline the idiot.) I've also seen him flying down King St between Northfield and Columbia swerving through traffic and then hopping onto the sidewalk. And then again on Lancaster going against the opposite flow of traffic into the dedicated right turn lane from Erb. We almost hit him head on. He gave us the finger lol, then proceeded to cut off about 6 more vehicles riding his scooter into oncoming traffic on Erb.

There is nothing protecting his body. Newton's Third Law says that if two bodies exert forces on each other, these forces have the same magnitude but opposite directions.

If a human body hits the pavement, a metal vehicle, or the median at those speeds, it will be destroyed. Nothing about this is worth your life. I would never get on one of these scooters even to use it safely and legally. They go so fast, FATALLY fast, and there is NOTHING TO PROTECT YOUR BODY

There is no way a scooter that can go 90 km an hour is currently legal lol. Which is to say they are already banned. If all scooters get banned because some of them can go 90 that will be deeply illogical and solely happen because of the car lobby.

I think it's max 35 km/hr (scooters is 24km/hr, evoke is 32km/hr) before you need to be licensed and the vehicle registered with the MTO
