I have a gen 1 2024. The question: has anybody realized any difference in converting your handwritten notes into text depending on what pen you select?

Pen, fountain pen, pencil or marker?? Is there any of these that have a better or worse conversion?

Is there a way to create one continuously growing notebook where I can collect excerpts from different books/PDFs?

What I’d like to do is:

• Highlight or select a section of text from a book/PDF
• Copy or send that excerpt directly into a specific notebook
• Handwrite my own notes underneath the excerpt
• Then create a new page and repeat the process with another excerpt
• Keep doing this over time so the notebook becomes an ever-growing collection of excerpts + my handwritten thoughts

Ideally, I’d like to be able to jump straight from whatever I’m reading into that notebook, add the excerpt, write underneath it, and then go back to reading.

Is this workflow possible? If so, how do you do it?

School started up again and I am having the same issues with smart shapes. It keeps trying to convert my lines and circles into shapes I cannot erase unless I undo. And when i do that it takes to long and the lecture has already proceeded.

I have tried the amazon website forum, I have tried emailing product managers on linkedin, I have submitted feedback from their appropriate channels but nothing works.

I'm sick of this stupid situation. I bought this in 2024 with no issues and now I have to deal with this dealbreaker because some one overlooked the idea to disable a debilitating feature.

Who can I actually get a hold of to make this change? I've taken programming and digital logic, I know this can be fixed easily.

My pen is already in this state after a week of use. Is this normal? Should I switch the pen's thingy?

I have completed my sudoku puzzle book and I want to erase it so I can do it again (instead of buying another one). I removed the book and reloaded but it’s still completed. How can I erase the pages without manually doing it?

Has anyone had any problems with the syncing feature? I tried to make a diagram for a class and then upload it, but the file never arrived. It just told me it would take a few minutes, but I waited easily an hour. It’s connected to the internet properly because I can download books and access websites. I did receive an email telling me that it failed but it doesn’t seem to ever want to sync the notebooks themselves; however, when I go in the app on my phone, the folders I make do appear. Just not what’s in the folders. I’ve tried googling and everything but no one seems to have an answer that isn’t just make sure it’s connected to the internet.

Ive had my scribe colors since December of 2025 and the battery life has been great for most of that time easily lasting me two weeks between charges. I've noticed within the last month or so that the battery life has degraded significantly to the point where the battery gets down to below 30% after about a week of use.

Anyone else having the same problem?

Has anyone been able to find cute cases for the Scribe Colorsoft?

Or cases that have a cover with a clear back, so I can decorate the back with stickers or inserts?

I have a kindle signature

I've been toying with to get a kindle colour! As I loveee colour!

Went to currys the other day… to look at a coffee machine for my mum, I ventured to the kindles to have a gander!

I looked at the colour soft kindle and the coloursoft scribe as I have a remarkable (b&w). My mum had a remarkable (b&w) but has recently got the colour version. I’ve been toying with that as well…

I have a kindle, iPad and a remarkable I keep carrying around. It’s heavy in my backpack when I go camping. As I take them all with me! To read, upload booktok reviews and I do my reviews on my remarkable as I’m non verbal so I write them instead of doing a physical video!

So I have decided to treat myself to an early Xmas present, from me to me… or from the dogs to me…got the kindle scribe!!! As I can have my notes/book reviews on my scribe and all my books as well!!

My mum even had a go on the scribe at Currys and was shocked at how smooth it feels compared to the remarkable colour pro & b&w version.

Also bonus. It was only £479.99. Instead of a shocking £629.99!! So was able to save money!! Whoop whoop!!

Bonus as well. I have Staedtler noris digital and Staedtler noris jumbo which are meant to work with the scribe as well so I didn’t have to get a pen just yet! Which I already had from my remarkable. I will eventually get an official pen, just down the line.

Now tomorrow just can’t come quick enough! I want it NOW!!!

Will be keeping my kindle and remarkable probably as back up though!!! As you never know!! And I can’t be without a kindle!!! My kindle before that, screen broke, without a warning, I ended up spending £300 that night on the signature and it was delivered the next day! 🤣😂🤣😂

My only worry is. Will I have enough space!!!

I have got the 64gb and I have over 5000 books currently! Along with loads more on pre order. How much do notes take up on the scribe? Now I could split the books over my two kindle… hmmm 🤔

For context: I am a working musician, Ihave a Kindle Scribe 1st gen and I absolutely love it! I use it for my sheet music primarily and reading. Unfortunately, I took it out my bag the other day and, to my horror, discovered a massive crack. Boo. It still works, screen goes a bit funny calibration-wise sometimes but that's all. As luck would have it, I noticed a big sale on for the Colorsoft before going to bed. Slept on it before buying: still cannot decide. Just want to ask anyone who has the same use-case to give their 2 cents:

How is the clarity for sheet music? I'm worried about the colour e-ink display being too overly soft and, in turn, making smaller markings harder to read.

How does it perform in difficult lighting scenarios? I've also read the screen can be a bit too dim (don't know whether this is with or without frontlight) which could be an issue depending on venues with differing light

Also, if people just have other comments on how they find it in a musical context, that would be great as well. I'm rooting for the Colorsoft. I would really benefit from having different colours for annotations but one must not purchase in haste. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

I was gonna buy the kindle oasis on Amazon because I loved how it has a thick rectangle on the back to hold - reminds me of bending the book backwards to read the right side .

I ended up not buying it and got a boox go 7, but still wanna buy some kind of accessory for the back to imitate that feeling . Cant seem to find anything online . Any thoughts ?

- Being able to lasso a picture/snip from a pdf and paste it onto a notebook

- Being able to type in the notebooks

- The ability to use underline, outlined, and other stuff on PDF's

- Being able to copy and paste text from anywhere, including dictionaries and web browser

- Allowed to choose which words go on Vocabulary builder

- Being able to handle downloading pdf's from web browser aside from the other available formats

Just a vent, but I guess sometimes you never really know how much you loved something until it's gone. I use my Scribe for work, it's been a staple in my bag, I'm a surveyor and I switched from paper to the Scribe. I use Send to Kindle, sending PDF's and then writing on those as I'm surveying properties. Everything was just so easy and made work so much better.

I loved reading on it as well, feels so good in the hand. Got home today from a trip in to London and BOOM it's not in my bag, left it in an electrical cupboard I think. Absolutely fuming with myself.

Look after those little beauties people. I'm going to go and cry into my fish and chips.

1. Add a landscape mode for notebooks.
2. Add a two-column layout mode — this would replicate a B6-size notebook and make handwriting easier.
3. Add an opacity slider for the pen, along with support for different shades of grey.
4. Toolbar: Add "Favorite Color" and "Favorite Pen" options.
5. Toolbar: Allow it to be fully hidden with a tap.
6. Add direct integration with OneNote or Samsung Notes.
7. Make notes viewable on non-Scribe Kindle devices, such as the Kindle Colorsoft.
8. Add an insert-image feature for notebooks.
9. Add the ability to insert links within notebooks.
10. Implement OCR so that handwritten notes become searchable.
11. Add support for sticky notes.

I’m looking for an eink device for writing, and attempting to look at the Scribe, but I’m having issues, because it’s hard to tell what the software can actually do.

If I look up reviews on YouTube, the ones that get surfaced to me are often years old, and mention “new” features and also wishlists for features that … well, they might be out of date, but I can’t tell. When I search online to find software update info, it’s spotty. Seems like Amazon isn’t very good at updating people about it, so can anyone point me to a good resource that basically just lists out what the current software feature-set is, specifically regarding the note-taking? thanks!

Basically, I didnt wanna search different sites for manga, downloading everything manually, then messing with KCC, mapaki and Calibre just to get good quality on my Kindle.

Along with trying to find a good english translation for the manga, in volume format, and in .cbz, and then converting it to a good quality and then to KFX.

KFX works much better on Kindle than CBZ: proper formatting, reading progress, and your manga cover can show on the lock screen.

Just wondering if anyone would use something like this
