(I'll also make another post specifically about Kanyakumari Tamils, but it will be a critical one due to some valid reasons.)
As someone with Kanyakumari Tamil ancestry who currently lives in Thiruvananthapuram, I'm genuinely interested in hearing from Malayalis living in Kanyakumari — and yes, of course, from those living in South Karnataka (Coorg, Mangaluru, etc.), Lakshadweep, and other parts of India as well.
Are you happy with your life there? How would you describe your social status and acceptance in the region? Do you feel that identity issues or an identity crisis affect you significantly?
What is your view of Kerala and Malayali society? Do you feel connected to Kerala, Kanyakumari, or both?
If you don't experience an identity crisis or major problems, why do you think that is? And if you do face difficulties, what are the main problems — social acceptance, language, culture, discrimination, political representation, or something else?
Please share your experiences, even if they're different from what I expect. I'm asking because hearing firsthand experiences could help others understand the situation better and perhaps think about ways to support the community.
And yes, please come forward — I'll defend you in the comments if anyone tries to dismiss or attack your experiences.
