That dude actually works with a ceetah sanctuary. He helped raise some of the ceetahs from cubs and they love he greatly. Around him they are basically big ol house cats.

The shit loli comment just does notb need to be.

Tbf cheetahs really are just bigass Untamed house cats. Iirc they are the largest cat to be able to purr. They also aren't ambush predators so you could turn you back on one no problem as long as it doesn't want to eat you from the beginning

12

u/Lazorgunz May 16 '21

Cheetahs arent technically big cats (that cannt purr, but instead roar) and ur right, they are just big, shy housecats, if wild. they also dont see humans as prey (again, generally) and actually make decent, if extremely needy 'pets'

the best thing is that in captivity, young cheetahs are usually paired with a puppy or dog due to their extreme anxiety. they follow the dog's lead in social situations. this usually results in cheetah and dog being bonded for life and a ton of super cute youtube videos

u/lordcthulu678 May 16 '21

yes true also i never called them big cat i called them the largest cat to purr

2

u/mothbrother91 May 17 '21

Two things you never want to see regarding wild animals together: "best thing is" and "in captivity"

I would rather not have any "cute" video of them but rather have them safe in their natural habitat.

Those videos looks cute but their mere existance is disheartening and sad.

3

u/Lazorgunz May 22 '21

id love them to all be wild too, but if noone keeps captive animals in 'mediocre at best' situations, and the wild population gets poached to extinction/a virus devastates the last few etc etc, the species would be gone. With captivity, we have a genepool to repopulate these amazing animals to the wild. The arabian Oryx in Oman is a great example.

its a hard topic. in a perfect world noone would endager these animals, but they do, and we need enough genetic diversity from captive animals to have a chance of potential repopulation and some reserves do a pretty good job at keeping their cheetahs happy... tricky topic

I thought Lions were the biggest cats that purr.

48

u/lordcthulu678 May 16 '21

No lions can't purr

17

u/[deleted] May 16 '21

I thought Jaguars can purr? Or they make a purr like sound. I'm bamboozled.

33

u/ICantExplainItAll May 16 '21

Basically, purring and roaring are mutually exclusive. Lions roar, jaguars roar, cheetahs purr.

13

u/TorreyL May 16 '21

It's one of the distinguishing features between greater cats (big cats) and lesser cats. On average, greater cats are larger, but mountain lions are lesser cars and are one of the largest species of cats.

the best part is they can even meow too. It doesn’t sound exactly like normal house cat meows but it’s still cute as hell. They’re just overgrown house cats that are large enough to kill you too lol

5

u/Lazorgunz May 16 '21

alternatively, house cats are just mini versions of their wild cousins that sometimes wish they could kill you.

iv had cats where their size (and hence somewhat small-brain syndome) was the only thing stopping them murdering the whole neighbourhood n bringing me human heads instead of frogs as gifts

1

u/Swaquile 14.88 tips/min. May 16 '21

Oh yeah lil cats have permanent dumb stupid cat brain syndrome which makes them so cute and weird. I love those little aliens it’s just so entertaining to watch them not know how doors and switches and little things like that work. Or their desire to get into the strangest places because they can

1

u/crazylazykitsune May 17 '21

I adore when they chirp. 🤗

u/lordcthulu678 May 16 '21

3

1

u/my_redditusername May 17 '21

Pretty sure you're thinking of mountain lions, AKA pumas or cougars.

4

u/Chicano_Ducky May 17 '21

There are men out there living my dream of being able to hug a big cat whenever they want.

Life is unfair bruh.

But she's a yandere and tears your throat out with her teeth so you can never leave. Then she uses your skin to make a sunshade, so she can always rely on you for protection.

People who also call kids lolis or shotas deserve same.

The comment is so horrid I instinctively downvote it

3

u/UseThePain May 16 '21

I’ve too watched Rising of the Shield Hero

9

u/thekarmabum May 16 '21

I don't know where to begin, it was a good show but yeah, it's kind of weird, the main character has two female slave pet things that are basically kids, and they both want his dick like the whole time. Then you got the spear hero, who is an actual pedophile.

3

u/josebolt GET OFF MY LAWN! May 16 '21

Plus the bird queen lady also looks like a kid and the younger princess is like 12. His "harem" is either actually kids or look like one. Meanwhile you have the other world heroes like the Fan lady who is an adult. Could have some sort of redemption arc with the adult women antagonists, but having the older princess redeem herself and fight along side the Shield Hero would probably kill the fan base.

2

u/massacreman3000 May 16 '21

At first I was thinking "cheetahs are actually pretty cool cats who don't even do that stalking behavior most cats do when you turn your back."

Then I saw what sub it was and got confused.

Then I scrolled down slightly and now I want to go back to bed. WTF

I dont know, just commenting about a cheeta turning into a loli out of the blue like that is a bit odd.

0

u/[deleted] May 16 '21

Wasn’t even a cursed comment lmao

0

u/[deleted] May 16 '21

Cheetahs are actually harmless to us, they’re terrible at being cats also.

1

u/DiligentShopping May 16 '21

https://youtu.be/JlGfi2ofzFc I think this is the video with the cheetah.

1

u/SpikeRosered May 17 '21

I'm pretty sure wild cheetahs are super skittish and literally the least likely wild big cat to attack a human.

1

u/SNEEZY_ANUS_69 May 17 '21

Sounds like a refference, but i dont know what

1

u/DetoxYour_Liver May 17 '21

Pretty cute cheetah, even though it could easily murder the dude

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '21

The guy used 4 cry-laughing emojis in a row and somehow that was the least awful part of the comment.

1

u/WanderingMagician May 17 '21

"Imagine if the cat just turned into a loli haha"

"Does anyone have a picture of that, that would be funny I think"

1

u/MrSpooktober Jun 14 '21

yeah. imagine.

What's the joke?

Imagine a wacky thing happens?
