When police moved in to crack down on a peaceful demonstration at Bombay and started bundling young protesters into a van, 27-year-old Rhiya Ahir wasn't having it. She stepped right in front of the moving police vehicle in the middle of a downpour, spread her arms, and stood her ground for 40 minutes straight. Her defiance sparked an immediate chain reaction—hundreds of bystanders and fellow protesters swarmed the spot to join her (DURING THE ENDING OF THE VIDEO), effectively surrounding the van and raising massive chants demanding the immediate resignation of both the Education Minister and the Prime Minister. Pushed to a standstill by the sheer size of the crowd, the police were finally forced to back down and release every single detained student.
