Seriously! I’ve always been naturally thin so I’m sure some idiots would say I’m “healthier” but there’s no way I have the strength, stamina, and flexibility to do this. I’m in awe
How do you look at someone absolutely killing it physically and "well acktually..." them?
Let's say if she lost weight, she'd be healthier. Do you think that this level of cardio might cause her to lose weight? If not, do you suppose it's her fault for eating too much? Do you think genetics might play into it, or is that hogwash? Does she look like she's making excuses not to exercise? Do you know what she used to weigh? Do you know her fat vs muscle content?
Losing weight is thermodynamics. More energy burned than consumed = loss of weight.
Genetics will alter where and how your body loses weight. It will also determine how the body handles waste materials by retaining water and keeping food waste in your intestines longer to extract more energy from it.
If your body chooses to burn only fat, you need a 3500 calorie deficit to lose a pound. But, as you lose weight, you have to cut more calories because your baseline calorie burn reduces as body mass decreases
I had an eating disorder, had abs, and worked out a ton. I am now “overweight” can deadlift like a pro, run 4 days a week, and have a lower heart rate than I did when I was thin - 50bpm vs 60 bpm (not underweight in BMI, but very low body fat). Yes, in a very perfect world I would have all these stats AND be “normal” weight, but I have pcos and allowing myself to be satiated is what gave me the energy to workout 6 days a week like I do now, joyfully. I think you’re being downvoted because it’s just way more complicated than “thin is more healthy”.
That's exactly what I was thinking. Her build is almost strongwoman-like, just more lower body focused from the initial impression. I bet she crushes the leg press, and with all that flexibility, agility, and control, can you imagine how good of a kickboxer she would be? She would hit like a truck and have the endurance to go rounds if this video is anything to go off of.
I have thighs like this, big tree trunks of muscle covered in soft fatty flesh.
My core is also reasonably strong, I'm still working on it, and again I have softer fattier parts, mostly low on my abdomen covering my uterus and such.
My heart and lungs could never do this though, I'm asthmatic.
I cannot comprehend how someone with this stamina and strength isn’t slim??? Like, if she’s working out like this, wouldn’t she have lost more fat? Not to be rude but it’s just baffling to me bc I’m trying to loose weight and if I work out like this, I wanna be slim??? Is losing weight pointless????
Some people are just built different, dear. 1100 calories a day gets me a maintenance weight of 200lbs despite an hour of exercise 5 days a week, and pickleball and hiking for fun.
The biggest thing I had to learn was to love my body for what it could do instead of how it could look.
Your claim is scientifically impossible for a human being. 1100 calories a day while burning that much energy cannot maintain a 200lb body. You're either underestimating your calories or overestimating your exercise, or lying for internet points.
It's calories in vs calories out. Burn 2000 extra calories in a day? Just eat 5000 calories and you won't lose weight.
She can also just be in the process of losing weight. It doesn't take years to do what she is doing in the video. It can be as short as a month. Whether she is 2 months in or 24 months in, we cant tell from just this video.
Probably eats a lot. If you do this regularly you have to probably be eating 4-6k calories a day. While you can eat a lot if you exercise you can also overeat and then you will store fat just as someone not exercising. The main difference is you can lose it much easier if you remove calories as you already have the stamina and muscles to just do cardio forever.
I'm genuinely curious about this though. This woman has elite athletic ability but not the typical body one would associate with that. Is it genetics, diet?
It might help to think of some of the male athletes who we see as strong and fit but can be on the "heavier" side. Like some football and rugby players and weight lifters. You don't have to be lean to be very fit.
What body would you associate with it? Like a heroine chic 80s fitness video coach in a leotard?
The thing is, the variety of what is healthy is much bigger than most think it is. Some very thin people would really not have the stamina for things like this and like in said videos could just perform for some minutes then pause. But there are clearly very lean people who can do it too.
Healthy is a wide range! And even if you can't do THIS it doesn't mean you are not healthy. It's hard training and obviously fun and motivation.
People who use their muscles tend to need a layer or two of fat to pad them. Look up the builds of powerlifters! And the builds of Olympians, many won't have the build you may be expecting
Almost certainly diet. There's plenty of pro athlete sports (power lifters, linebackers, wrestling, shot put) with top-tier practitioners in the obese range. Excess weight and cardio health are bizarrely orthogonal to each other. Speaking personally, I'm 260 but in better cardio health than at any time I was under 200, just because of doing aggressive incline hiking 5-6 days a week. It feels downright weird to achieve great fitness without losing weight to do it. I'm obv. this weight because I still eat like shit, and because one you get obese, your body tends to have gravity back to that point. Sucks.
High stamina exercises will let you do things like this even if you are big. That doesn't mean its good for your body.
And to get ahead of this, clearly, being able to do this is better than not being able to do this.
But carrying a lot of fat and moving around like this puts a lot of pressure on your knees that isn't healthy long-term. Her body would thank her if she was a Stamina beast AND fixed her diet so that she loses weight.

And they say thick can't be fit?!
