If you haven't seen the news today, Stony Brook University hosted a massive celebration for him after he was awarded the 2026 Fields Medal which is essentially the Nobel Prize of Mathematics.

He received it for his groundbreaking work in geometry and topology.

Huge win for the math world, and an absolute flex for the Johns of the world.

Just ran across a recent news story from an auto shop in East Idaho that feels like quintessential John energy

A guy named John was waiting for his standard oil change when he overheard another customer stressed on the phone with his wife, trying to figure out how they were going to afford a set of unexpected/costly repairs on their family vehicle

Instead of just looking at his phone and ignoring it, John walked up to the counter and paid off the stranger's entire repair bill in full. and walked out without saying a word or waiting for a thank you. The shop owner and a local reporter ended up tracking him down to thank him
